Developer Portkey Games has been fairly quiet this year about their hit game Hogwarts Legacy, which is set in the magical world of Harry Potter. However, a recent announcement revealed that an update was in the works and would include a number of new cosmetics, some bug fixes and technical improvements, as well as a new quest for PC and Xbox players. Additionally, a Talent Point reset feature will also allow you to test out new builds and abilities. Top 10 Changes in Hogwarts Legacy Patch Notes Summer Update

  1. Haunted Shop Mission Unlocked – Previously exclusive to Sony platforms, the Haunted Shop mission is now available on all platforms, along with exclusive items: the Onyx Hippogriff mount, Felix Felicis Potion, and Shopkeeper Cosmetic set.
  2. Additional New Cosmetics – New cosmetic items include the Lavender Borealis broom, Azkaban Themed gear, and Circular Taped Spectacles.
  3. Photo Mode – Allows players to capture screenshots of their experiences and newly unlocked cosmetics, available after completing the mission to gain access to the field guide.
  4. Talent Point Reset – Players can now reset their talent points to re-build their ideal Witch or Wizard without starting a new playthrough.
  5. Localization Updates – Improved localized voice-overs for Japanese and Spanish, corrected translations, and fixed several voice-over cut-offs throughout the game.
  6. UI Fixes – Multiple UI improvements, including fixing issues with field guide page selection, disappearing Alohamora prompts, and Dark Arts spells becoming non-equippable.
  7. Gameplay Enhancements – Bug fixes addressing issues with mission progression, misleading butterflies, and the Swift talent on the map edge.
  8. Achievements Fixes – Resolved issues with the flying field guide page not counting towards map counters and Bell Tower Wing Sector.
  9. NPC and Avatar Fixes – Fixed NPC movement issues, avatar climbing and treasure chest access, and clipping with the Legendary Masquerade Masks.
  10. Combat and Navigation Improvements – Addressed combat bugs, lighting effects issues, and navigation glitches like getting stuck in the air and disappearing Alohamora locks.

Developer notes – This Patch unlocks the Haunted Shop mission previously available only to Sony platforms on all supported platforms, as well as all previously exclusive items and cosmetics, including:

  • The Onyx Hyppogriff mount.
  • The Felix Felicis Potion.
  • The Shopkeeper Cosmetic set.

It also includes new, never seen before cosmetic items, AND a new broom:

  • The Lavender Borealis.
  • The Azkaban Themed gear.
  • The Circular Taped Spectacles.

A Photo Mode has also been added to allow players to capture screenshots of their Hogwarts Legacy experience and all their newly unlocked cosmetics. *Photo mode will become available after completing the mission to gain access the field guide.

In addition, this patch also provides players with a talent point reset function, to re-build your ideal Witch/Wizard without having to start a new playthrough. Multiple bugs have also been addressed (Details below).

  • Fixed instance where the Legendary Masquerade Masks would clip within the avatar’s face when equipped. HL-4453

  • Fixed instance where a loading screen would cause a cage door to lock up again without regenerating an alohamora lock on it in a bandit camp on the north end of the map. HL-16327
