How to Beat Frost Walker Guide
To beat Frost Walker in The First Descendant, use Fire damage and Descendant Ultimate Lepic, attack his massive weak point shoulders, and collect embers to survive his wipe mechanic. A squad full of Ultimate Lepic’s with the Overkill skill with Firearm Master can melt Frost Walker in less than 20 seconds. However, to ensure clean runs in random groups, you would always focus the weak point shoulders to limit the immunity mechanics.
The best way to beat Frost Walker is at the start of the battle, activate your Ecive scanner to see the Pink bar beneath the Frost Walker’s shield and health bar. Once filled, the boss will become immune to damage and summon weak point vials that protrude from each leg’s knee. Players will need to destroy all of the vials on each leg to resume damage. Once the fight timer reaches 7:30 time left, Frost Walker will release an attack that will freeze all players in place and if you haven’t completed the mechanics, you will automatically wipe.
The Best Modules, Loadouts to Defeat Frost Walker
The best modules for defeating the Frost Walker are Fire Specialist, Dangerous Ambush, and Mid-Air Maneuvering. Fire Specialist boosts your fire skill damage which Frost Walker is weak against. Dangerous Ambush provides large boosts in Skill Power when the boss isn’t targeting you or when it is immobilized and stunned. Lastly, Mid-Air Maneuvering allows you to use your grapple even to a point in the air and move around the field. This is super important for dodging attacks, collecting embers, and getting around Frost Walker to destroy his leg parts while in the immunity phase. Frost Walker Attacks, Abilities, & Mechanics
The Frost Walker mechanics revolve around freeze players and dealing massive damage in single shots. Occasionally Frost Walker will fire multiple rockets into the air at a certain area dealing massive damage to any enemies hit. Also, he will charge up his arm guns to send out a blast that will freeze any Descendants caught in it. Lastly, the boss has a wipe mechanic if the fight has gone on too long that will instantly freeze all player and kill them resulting in an instant wipe. Collecting embers are super important to survive the wipe mechanics. Once enough has been collected a safety circle will spawn at the player that collected enough embers and players must be inside when the boss does the wipe or they get frozen and die.
Below is a list of the Frost Walker’s mechanics and attacks in the First Descendant:
- Roly-Poly: Additional enemies summoned throughout the fight. You can ignore them or destroy them to pick up ammunition, health, and MP bricks.
- Frost Rockets: Rockets fired at a certain area that deal massive damage to anyone hit
- Freeze Beam: Charged up beam attack that can hit through multiple players
- Charge Blast: Charges up a shotgun-like blast that will freeze Descendant hit.
- Leg Vials: Once immunity phase begins, vial will spawn on each leg and must be destroyed to begin damage again
- Freeze Wipe: After a certain amount of time, the boss will freeze everyone in place, if you are not standing in a safety ring, it will wipe the whole group.
Best Tips for Defeating Frost Walker
The best tip for beating Frost Walker is to nuke the boss before even the first immunity phase. Frost Walker is very weak to flame damage and one of the strongest boss burst damage Descendants is Lepic who uses Fire damage. If you don’t have enough Lepics in your group, you will need to focus on breaking body parts and collecting them embers to avoid the wipe mechanic.
Below are tips and tricks for defeating the Frost Walker boss on hard difficulty in the First Descendant:
- Burn the Boss: Use Lepic and Gley and activate your best ability and weapon at the start.
- Use Ecive: immediately use the Ecive skill to detect weak points and the Frenzy (immunity) bar below health.
- Destroy Shoulders: If you are unable to burn the boss, focus a shoulder becomes yellowish color, grapple and destroy it for a free 5 seconds of damage
- Embers and Flames Buff: Embers will spawn when body parts are destroyed collecting six of these will switch the buff from Embers to Flames and spawn a ring around the player. During the bosses wipe mechanic, all players should be inside the ring to survive.
- Fire Damage: The boss is weak in fire damage, so equip an fire damage module for your weapon.
- Weak Points: Aim for shoulders to stun the boss and aim for the knees to end immunity phases.
Loot and Rewards for Frost Walker in The First Descendant
After beating it in the First Descendant, the Frost Walker boss drops modules, weapons, and reactors. You can activate an amorphous pattern at the reconstruction device it spawns. Frost Walker also dropped the Frozen Heart set, a powerful External Component that can be used on any frost-based First Descendant.
