How To Customize Weapons and Gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In this guide, we shall go over how to customize weapons and gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and also change their appearance.

Assassin’s Creed has always been about pulling off the slickest assassinations and looking like a total badass while doing so. Assassin’s Creed Shadows follows through with the spirit of the series, empowering you to assassinate and plow through enemies with ease with a plethora of weapons. These weapons can be customized to be made stronger, ensuring you get to live out your assassin power fantasies. 

Apart from making weapons stronger, you also get to change their appearance. As you progress through the game and find stronger armor or weapons, you may find them to be not as badass in terms of looks. Instead of compromising on your looks, AC Shadows allows you to transmog. This means that you can pick the stronger weapon but modify it to look like the other armor you like. The same is also applicable to weapons.

How To Upgrade Weapons and Gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You customize and upgrade the performance of your weapons and gear by following the steps below: 

  • First, you need to unlock your Hideout at Tomiko’s residence in the game. This is a Safehouse area you unlock by playing through and completing the prologue section of the game. 
  • Once the Hideout is unlocked, play and complete Tomiko’s quest, “Way of the Blacksmith.” This will introduce you to the Blacksmith Heiji. 
  • After completing the quest, build the Forge in your hideout for 40 Crops, 30 Wood, and 10 Minerals. Once done, talk to Heiji, who will then come in to upgrade your gear. Speak to him anytime to upgrade your gear.

How To Customize and Change Item Appearance

If you’re looking to change the appearance of your items, you can transmog by following the steps below: 

  • Unlock the Hideout at Tomiko’s residence in the game by completing the prologue section. 
  • Complete Tomiko’s quest, “Way of the Blacksmith,” and build the Forge in the hideout. Talk to Heiji, and he will introduce you to the Transmog system. 
  • Once Heiji tells you about the transmog system, you can use your Inventory to change item appearance anytime. 
  • Open up your inventory and select the item you wish to customize. Click on the “Customize” button prompt on the bottom right of your screen to change appearance.
