The Yamabushi Imposters are all causing havoc in various locations across the entire map. The Pond Yamabushi is one such malicious entity. However, finding and defeating him can be a bit of a challenge, so it’s best to go in prepared.

How To Find the Pond Yamabushi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Pond Yamabushi is found in the western part of the Omi region. Firstly, head to the Three-Trunked Tree. When you arrive at this location, you will notice that the boss is not here.

This is because you need to meditate at the nearby Kuji-kiri spot. Once you successfully meditate, he will appear and attempt to attack you from behind, initiating the battle.

How To Defeat the Pond Yamabushi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

This target gets the jump on you, instead of the other way around. So, dropping his health by assassination is not a tactic viable here. This enemy fights using a single katana in combat.

He often uses a combo of three successive attacks which can all be blocked or deflected, or one normal attack followed by an un-blockable. Memorizing his pattern of attacks will be key here. You have ample time to deflect his hits at the right time, leaving him open to a flurry of attacks.

If you are doing less damage than expected, you should consider upgrading your gear for the battle. With a bit of patience, he should eventually go down. You will get the following as a reward for beating the Pond Yamabushi:

• 3,000 XP
• 2 Mastery Points
• Engraving – Ration on Headshot
• Letter Found on a Yamabushi Imposter
• Long Katana – The Monk’s Amendment
