The Family Ring will help save you when you’ve been Downed, and you can find it during Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Family Ring
In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Family Ring will increase your chances of successfully rolling a Death Saving Throw with the dice. The bonus on this ring grants a +2 increase to Death Saving Throws. A Death Saving Throw is a dice roll that a Downed creature must make to avoid dying. In Baldur’s Gate 3 when you or a party member have your HP reduced to zero, you will enter a Downed state. When Downed, you must use your full turn to roll one death saving throw per round.
With each turn a Death Saving Throw is made and the D20 dice is rolled. You must pass a 10 difficulty check in order to survive another round, which gives you allies time to help or heal you. If you fail this roll three times, then your or your party member becomes fully dead. Consequently, the only way to return is with a Revivify scroll or Withers.

How to Get Family Ring in Baldur’s Gate 3
To get the Family Ring in Baldur’s Gate 3 you will need to search for a hidden burrow in the Ruined Battlefield of the Shadow-Cursed Lands and pass a 10 DC Perception check in order to see and interact with it. The location of the Burrow can be found to the east of the Last Light Inn. There are a lot of curving pathways in the Ruined Battlefield, so from the bridge leading into the Last Light Inn you should first head north.
Keep to the right at the first fork in the road. Next, take the first left you come to. Head straight up at patch and keep going in that direction even when the space opens up into a larger area. Straight across will be a short hidden pathway with ledges you can climb down as it curls around. At the bottom you will find the burrow. Hopefully, at least one of your party members will successfully pass the Perception check need to see it.
Once it’s visible, you can click to interact with it and easily take the Family Ring.
