The Safeguard Shield is an uncommon shield in Baldur’s Gate 3 that increases your AC by +2. It also grants you +1 on all saving throws increasing survivability in combat. This is a good starter gear item for a Sorcerer, Wizard, Cleric, Fighter, Druid, and Paladin. However, it will work fantastic with almost any class. You can equip it to your character’s off-hand weapon slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. The user needs Shield proficiency or suffers penalties while wearing the shield.

You can buy the Safeguard Shield from Dammon in Druid Grove in Act 1. He is inside the cave. Droid Grove is a settlement north of where you wake up on the beach after the prologue and one of the most important story locations in Act 1.
