The Critical Status skill is a weapon skill that increases the abnormal status effects whenever you land a critical hit on a monster. This means you inflict effects such as paralysis, poison, sleep, and blast each time you land a critical hit.
At Level 1, you see a slight increase in the abnormal status effects when landing crits. At Level 2, this goes up a notch, and there is a moderate increase in the status effects whenever you land a critical hit. Level it up all the way and take it to Level 3, and you will notice a great increase in abnormal status effects upon critical hits.
Seeing that the Critical Status skill relies on critical hits to be effective, it is important that you pair this skill up with a high Affinity build. Affinity in Monster Hunter Wilds refers to the chance of landing a critical hit. The greater the Affinity, the likelier that you’re landing a crit.
Different equipment have different Affinity tied to them, so we recommend carrying the best possible combination of equipment to max out this stat. Max out your Affinity and level up Critical Status to Level 3, and you’ll be chewing through these monsters in no time.
