In Avowed, Stoneheart is a unique amulet accessory that gives you the ability to summon a spirit ally in combat. The Earthfriend enchantment passive allows you to summon a Ruinous Blight to fight with you and your party.
The Ruinous Blight is one of the better-summoned creatures in Avowed. Not quite as top-tier as the Bear Ally in the Ranger skill tree. However, it is very tanky, with good HP. Consequently, it will usually last for the full 35 seconds, doing damage and holding the attention of an enemy or two.

How to Get Stoneheart in Avowed?
To get the Stoneheart amulet accessory in Avowed, you must head east into The Shallow Steppe area of the fourth region of Galawain’s Tusks to find Grakohr’s Cave. Inside the cave you will encounter the ogre Grakohr and his prisoner Gilyn. Speak to Grakohr and don’t attack him or be too aggressive. The only way you can get the Stoneheart amulet is if you agree to help him find a cure for his moulder lung. Accept the side quest, and you’ll start A Cure for Rage.
Step 1- Find the Recipe
Before you leave, speak to Gilyn for information on where to find the recipe for the cure. She’ll point you in the direction of the destroyed Aedyran Caravan. The caravan isn’t very far away to the northeast, but the wreckage will be strewn out across a wide area. There will be other items you can loot here, too. Keep checking and you’ll find the Common Ailments Among the Denizens of Galawain’s Tusk.
Step 2- Find the Ingredients
The location of search areas for the ingredients will be marked on your map once you have found and read the list. You’ll be searching for three things in a Cure for Rage:
- Anti-Mycotic Moss
- Calcified Beetle Nest Nodule
- Jar of Gunpowder Snuff
First, the Anti-Mycotic Moss can be found on a tree at the top of some rocks in the southeastern side of the quest marker’s search zone. Secondly, the Calcified Beetle Nest Nodule can easily be found sticking to some rocks directly east of Grakohr’s Cave.
Finally, you can find the Gunpower Snuff at the Southern Warden Tower. This location is on the far west side of the quest marker’s search radius. You can find a jar of this gunpower sitting on a shelf inside. Additionally, another way of getting this gunpowder is by speaking to Warden Lerae. Tell her about the situation, and she’ll be happy to give you some.
Step 3- Return to Grakohr
Once you have all of the ingredients, return to the cave and speak to Grakohr. Give him the ingredients and he will thank you and agree to let Gilyn go free. Moreover, he will then reward you by giving you the Stoneheart amulet. It will be placed directly into your inventory.
How to Use Stoneheart in Avowed?
The best way to use the Stoneheart amulet is by equipping it a Wizard or other spellcasting build in Avowed. As a spellcaster, you are likely putting most of your attribute points into Intellect and Resolve, and unfortunately, your survivability can suffer due to a lower HP pool. The Bear Ally and Kai are great tanky allies you can use, but the Ruinous Blight summons is another party member that can help take the pressure off of you. Furthermore, calling up the Ruinous Blight summons is very similar to casting a spell.
To call the Ruinous Blight summon into battle you will need to equip the amulet on your character, and then activate the ability by pausing combat and pulling up the utility wheel. The summons will not automatically appear if you only equip the amulet. You must manually activate it and trigger the summons. This gives you more control so that you can time the summons for when you really need it.
Enchanting Stoneheart in Avowed
The enchantment on the Stoneheart amulet cannot be upgraded or altered at the enchanting station in camp. It is an accessory, therefore it can not be improved in any way.
Stoneheart Upgrade Materials in Avowed
Likewise, the Stoneheart amulet cannot be upgraded with crafting materials in Avowed. There is no way in game to increase the strength, speed, or duration of the Ruinous Blight summons.
