With the Week 5 new content update only days away, the developer reveals the details on two new Descendant mods!
Tomorrow will bring the first major content patch to The First Descendant in the developer’s Week 5 update to the game. It will include a brand new Descendant, a new Ultimate Descendant, new modules, Colossi fight and more. Earlier today Nexon Games posted some new details regarding the brand new modules for both of the new Descendants!
New Descendant Mods Revealed for The First Descendant
In a recent X (formally Twitter) post, the developers at Nexom Games have disclosed some new details for new upcoming modules for Luna, a new standard Descendant, and Ultimate Valby.

Luna’ New Modules
The new standard Descendant Luna has Arche abilities based on music, both instrumental and vocal. Previously released information suggested that she would be a new support character. However, while one new mod appears to strengthen her support abilities, another appears to be able to turn her into a powerful damage dealer.
Luna’s two new modification modules are:
- Nimble Footsteps – Make Luna an even more efficient Support Descendant with enhanced skill range and mobility
- Noise Surge – Transform Luna from a Support Descendant to a powerful combat dealer!
Noise Surge is probably the most interesting of these new modules. It allows her to change from a support role to a DPS role. This could potentially open up a lot of different build variety for her, and make her a viable option no matter the mission.
However, we don’t yet know the details of how this will work in practice. Will this completely change how her abilities function? Will she boost her own attack power instead of others? We don’t know much more at this point, but it will be exciting to test out the possibilities soon.
Ultimate Valby’s New Modules
Ultimate characters in The First Descendant as very similar to their standard versions, aside from the new outfits, a special module, and slightly better stats. However, it appears that Ultimate Valby will be coming with a couple of new modules and these will change two of her abilities in specific ways.
Ultimate Valby’s two new modification modules are:
- Spiral Tidal Wave – Modify “Bubble Bullet” into a projectile that flies in a straight line and attracts the impurities of Gluttony!
- Hydro Pressure Bomb – Leap forward and deliver a powerful finishing blow to enemies around the landing area instead of “Plop Plop”
Spiral Tidal Wave is very interesting in that it seems to be specifically targeted for use against the new Colossus Gluttony. Therefore, possibly making Ultimate Valby a highly desired character to take into that fight.
Finally, Hydro Pressure Bomb will completely change the way the Plop Plop ability works. Instead of creating a damage-over-time effect that inflicts a condition, it will become a burst area-of-effect blast.
