Can You Preload Tears of the Kingdom?
Nintendo fans are waiting eagerly as the launch day for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom draws near. And if you have purchased a digital edition of the game from the Nintendo eShop, then yes – you can preload Tears of the Kingdom.
According to Nintendo, it will become available for preload one week before the official release on May 12. Therefore, on May 5 (exact time has not been announced, but presumably at midnight EDT) eager fans will be able to download the game onto their Switch.

Players attempting to pre-download will need to make sure they have 18.2 GBs of free space on their Switch consoles. After download, all of the files and data will be installed on your games library – but you won’t be able to access or play the game until the release on May 12th!
It’s likely that there will be a small software update or patch that you’ll need to download before finally be able to play the game on May 12, but it should be much smaller and you will be a step ahead of others and jumping into Hyrule much more quickly!
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will unlock at midnight EDT on May 12, or 9 PM PDT on May 11.
