The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Travel Medallion

Has the Travel Medallion returned in Tears of the Kingdom?

Yes, the Travel Medallion will be returning in this sequel game.

The Travel Medallion was an item players could first acquire in the Breath of the Wild The Master Trials DLC Pack. It allowed the player to create their own fast travel point anywhere in the game. Finding this medallion item in the original DLC took a bit of adventuring. Link had to travel to Lomei Labyrinth Island and discover the treasure chest in a chamber underneath.

Finding the Travel Medallion in Tears of the Kingdom

Getting the Travel Medallion this time around won’t require as much effort this time around! As seen in some hands-on previous of the game, Link will receive the Medallion from Robbie. A Sheikah scientist, Robbie is a character Link met previously in Breath of the Wild.

We’re not yet sure exactly where Robbie will be found, but we’ll update with his location as soon as the game drops on May 12!

Using the Travel Medallion

This is a pretty straightforward process:

  • Have Link stand wherever you want the travel point.
  • Place the Medallion

That’s it! You can now fast travel to that point at anytime. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The Travel Medallion can only register one fast travel point at a time. So if you place the Medallion on the ground again to register a new spot, it will overwrite the old one and you won’t be able to use that travel point anymore.

This item was incredibly helpful in Breath of the Wild and we suspect it will come in handy a lot in Tears of the Kingdom. Using the Travel Medallion to set a fast travel point while you’re puzzling out how to work your way from one Sky Island to the next will save a lot of time and potential headaches if Link misses an edge and starts to fall to the ground.
