All of the castles offer varying levels of challenge, assigning you targets to assassinate and treasure chests to find. Himeji Castle is one of the harder strongholds in the game, assigning five Samurai Daisho for you to assassinate.

Assassinating five different targets requires you to have a lay of the land and clear out guards that could catch you in the act. Where Is Himeji Castle in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Himeji Castle is in the Harima region of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, found within the Himeji prefecture. This stronghold is directly north of the Saifukuji Temple fast-travel point in the game. To the east of this castle lies the Mount Takamikura fast-travel point. We recommend making your approach from the Saifukuji Temple, as it is the nearest to the castle.

Himeji Castle Samurai Daisho Locations in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Himeji Castle has five Samurai Daisho that you need to assassinate. Infiltrate the castle grounds and scout the area carefully to mark the Samurai Daisho. Marking them tags the targets with a helmet icon, making them easier to track amidst the crowd. The Samurai Daisho are in the following locations:

• Samurai Daisho #1: The first Samurai Daisho patrols the road at the southeastern end of the castle. This is the subsection of the castle where the walls form a cone shape toward the border.
• Samurai Daisho #2: The second Samurai Daisho is in the courtyard along the northwestern perimeter of the castle.
• Samurai Daisho #3: The third target is east of the viewpoint in the area, in the east courtyard close to the perimeter wall.
• Samurai Daisho #4: The fourth target is in the same building as the viewpoint.
• Samurai Daisho #5: The final target is in a building directly southwest of the viewpoint.

Himeji Castle Legendary Chest Location and Rewards in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Kura Key

The Kura Key is in the east courtyard, where you killed the third Samurai Daisho earlier. You can use this key to unlock two doors. The first door is further east of the courtyard, while the second door is inside a house in the north near the large tower.

Legendary Chest

The Himeji Castle Legendary Chest lies in the same building where you killed the fourth Daisho and found the viewpoint. Kill all five Samurai Daisho and enter the building to loot the red chest. This chest will grant you the following rewards:

• 3,000 XP
• 5 Mastery Points
• Defense Master Clothing – Legendary Armor
