Walkthrough of A Cure for Rage Mission in Avowed
The side quest “A Cure for Rage” occurs in Galawain’s Tusks. Upon reaching, you’ll find Warden Lerae. Talk to her, and she will inform you that a caravan from Solace hasn’t yet returned.
After walking for a while, you will come across the debris of the caravan on the right side of the road, along with two stone beetles. Defeat them and continue following the caravan’s marks. Eventually, you’ll find a cart that has crashed into a wall.
Next to the crashed cart, you’ll find a cave. Enter the cave, and you’ll find that Grakohr has held Gilyn hostage. It turns out that Grakohr is responsible for the cart’s crash. You can either fight Grakohr or bring him the cure.
Dealing with Grakohr
When you engage in a conversation with Grakohr, you have the option to attack him. Grakohr is an enormous giant, and defeating him will be challenging due to his powerful moves, including swinging a club, overhead slams and AoE foot stomps.
Defeating him will give you a hefty 8550 XP and a lethal weapon, “Limb-Taker Two-Handed Melee.” After informing Gilyn about the defeat of Grakohr, your side quest of A Cure for Rage in Avowed will be completed.
Alternatively, you can solve the matter amicably by selecting “Why would you do such a thing?” Grakohr will explain that the caravan harmed him first when he sought their help. Select the option of helping Grakohr, and he will tell you about a cure found in the book from the caravan wreckage.
To help him, retrieve the book from the wreckage and show it to him. He will then task you with collecting the necessary ingredients for the cure.
Finding the Ingredients for Grakohr’s Cure
To quickly gather the necessary ingredients for the cure, ask Gilyn about their location. The ingredients you need are:
- Calcified Beetle Nest Nodule: This can be found northeast of the cave, surrounded by Elder Adra Beetles, Lava Lights, and several Xaurip Callers and Xaurip Champions. Defeat all of them to obtain the Calcified Fire Beetle Nest from the green sludge.
- Anti-Mycotic Moss: Located on the southeastern side of the cave, this moss is within a Xaurip encampment defended by Warchief, Stalkers, Adra Beetles, High Priests, Screamers, a Sorcerer, and Stone Beetles. Start by defeating the High Priests and then the rest of the enemies. Afterwards, climb to the top of the rocks to find the Anti-Mycotic Moss. If you search carefully, you may also find Shadowdancer’s Boots in a chest.
- Jar of Gunpowder Snuff: Found on the west side of the quest marker, the jar is placed on a bookshelf inside the Southern Warden Tower.
Once you have all three ingredients, return to Grakohr and give him the cure. He will thank you, free Gilyn, and reward you with a Stoneheart Amulet. This completes A Cure for Rage Mission in Avowed, earning you 9,975 XP.
