The Destiny 2 Solar Warlock PvE Build gives weapons, exotics, and armor mods intended for all levels of PvE players!
Updated June 19, 2024: Destiny 2: The Final Shape and Update 8.0.0.1 has many crucial changes. The new expansion brings a new subclass, Salvation’s Edge raid, with new weapons and gear, a power level increase, new exotic gear, and – never seen before – exotic class items. Also, the new base game update includes many class and weapon balance changes that influenced the Destiny 2 builds and meta.
Why Should You Play Solar Warlock in PVE?
PVE Solar Warlock is focused on setting the world on fire. The object of the subclass is to scorch and ignite everything in its path. Since this subclass has access to healing and damage buffs, it’s hard not to enjoy the Solar Warlock playstyle. Warlocks have access to one of the best supers, Well of Radiance, with a lot of great exotics to buff their strong kits. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build.

Abilities
The best abilities for the Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build are Phoenix Dive, Celestial Fire, and Daybreak. The Daybreak super is incredibly powerful with this build because it is buffed by our exotic and deals massive damage. The Phoenix Dive applies cure to us as we dive to the ground keeping our health up while in combat. Lastly, the Celestial Fire melee sends our orbs of fire, scorching any enemies hit.
Daybreak – Sling flaming sword projectile at enemies dealing massive single target damage and large AOE damage
Phoenix Dive – Activating your class ability while in the air will cause you to dive to the ground applying cure to you
Burst Glide – The faster glide allowing you to boost forward extremely fast
Fusion Grenade – A grenade that explodes after a short time dealing massive damage
Celestial Fire – Cast forth three orbs of fire that are great for long range single target melee damage
Our Daybreak super is the most important ability we use in this build. This super’s damage is buffed by Dawn Chorus allowing it to deal massive single-target damage or take out hordes of enemies. This can be swapped out for Well of Radiance if needed for survivability, however, you do lose some utility of our exotic. Although, our grenades can be flexed out depending on preference and playstyle, fusion grenades are incredibly powerful damage grenades. Lastly, Celestial Fire can be swapped with the Incinerator Snap melee for a little more trash enemy clearing but way less range and single-target damage. While most of these abilities can be swapped depending on content or playstyle, these abilities are the best all-around choice for the build.
Aspects
The best aspects to use with our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build are Heat Rises, and Touch of Flame. Heat Rises gives us a similarly named buff that allows us to float in the air while still using weapons and other abilities. Touch of Flame buffs our grenades providing either more healing or more damage.
Heat Rises – This allows us to use our grenade to float in the air and heals us. Kills extended the buffs duiration and kills while floating give melee energy.
Touch of Flame – Your grenades gain increased performance increasing their damage or healing
Heat Rises is incredibly important with this build since it provides us with even more melee energy and scorch sources. With our exotic, Dawn Chorus, we will gain melee energy by dealing scorch damage, and heat rises give more melee energy for kills while airborne. With our class ability Phoenix Dive, Heat Rises provides us with restoration while the buff is active. Also, Touch of Flame buffs our grenades allowing our fusion grenade to explode twice dealing massive damage.
Fragments
The best fragments for our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build are the Ember of Empyrean, Ember of Torches, Ember of Ashes, and Ember of Searing. Since these provide us with radiance, buff our scorch stacks, and give us melee energy.
Ember of Empyrean : This extends our radiant and restoration buffs by getting solar kills
Ember of Torches : Powered melee hits give us and nearby allies Radiant
Ember of Ashes : Increases our scorch stacks we apply to targets
Ember of Searing : Killing enemies that are scorched grant melee energy and spawn Firesprites
Ember of Ashes is one of the most important fragments for our build. Since Dawn Chorus buffs our scorch damage, extending our scorch stacks ensures we get the most damage out as possible. Ember of Searing gives us melee energy back when killing scorched targets and spawns Firesprites that give grenade energy. Ember of Torches buffs our weapons with Radiant after hitting something with our powered melees. Furthermore, Ember of Empyrean extends our radiant and restoration buffs after getting solar kills.
Weapons
The best weapons for our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build are Riptide, BXR-55 Battler, and Dragon’s Breath. Dragon’s Breath is the star of the show allowing us to clear hordes of enemies or deal massive single-target damage with a single rocket. Also, BXR-55 Battler provides an amazing source of scorch with Incandescent and grenade recharge with Demolitionist. These pair well with our build by helping clear low-health enemies, giving us more grenades, and providing us with more scorch sources for our exotic. Lastly, Riptide is a burst damage fusion rifle with some great utility allowing you to freeze enemies.
Here’s a list of the best weapon loadout for our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build:
- Kinetic: Riptide, Rapid-Fire Frame Stasis Fusion Rifle
- Energy: BXR-55 Battler, Legacy PR-55 Frame Solar Pulse Rifle
- Heavy: Dragon’s Breath, Exotic Solar Rocket Launcher
Alternatively, you can run any legendary special weapon in the kinetic slot. However, it’s best to focus on damage options like fusions and snipers rather than just utility options like grenade launchers. BXR-55 Battler can be replaced with any solar primary ammo weapon that can roll with Incandescent but the extra utility of Demolitionist provides some extra utility towards the build. Lastly, Dragon’s Breath can be swapped with other solar heavy weapons but you will be losing a lot of damage and subclass synergy.
Exotic Armor
The best exotic armor for the Solar Warlock PVE build is Dawn Chorus. Overall, this exotic helmet provides two massive benefits. Firstly, the main benefit is that it buffs our scorch damage and our scorch ticks generate melee energy. With so many sources of scorch in our build, this just makes this potent subclass verb even more powerful. Secondly, it buffs our Daybreak super projectiles allowing them to deal more damage and apply more scorch stacks.
Armor Stats
The best stats to focus on in our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build are Resilience, Recovery, and Discipline. Since these provide us with survivability, reduce our class ability cooldown, and reduce our grenade cooldown.
- Mobility: 10
- Resilience: 100
- Recovery: 70
- Disciple: 70
- Intellect: 50
- Strength: 30
Armor Mods
The best armor mods for our Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build are Solar Weapon Surge, Font of Wisdom, and Heavy Handed. Since these build into our solar weapon damage, give us extra super regeneration, and generate orbs of power.

Gameplay Tips
This Dawn Chorus Solar Warlock PvE Build is about applying scorch to everything. Our super can be used for either clearing entire rooms of enemies or for high boss damage with our exotic buff. Also, our melees are great for providing a form of scorch and provide a damage buff for us. It’s important to throw your fusion grenades on cooldown since we will get them back insanely fast.
Our exotic helmet not only provides our super more damage but buffs our scorch as well. Since our grenades, weapon perks, melees, phoenix dive, and super all provide scorch, this just pumps our damage to insane numbers. We get strong survivability with our Phoenix Dive which cures us and while Heat Rises is active we get restoration as well.
