Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world introduced in the Harry Potter books. It’s quite easily one of the 2023 most highly-anticipated games. The game takes place at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s. Players can create their own Wizard or Witch and explore the magical open world, attend classes, fly on magical creatures, fight casting spells, make potions and much more.
Hogwarts Legacy Release dates
Firstly, we present the final and confirmed Hogwarts Legacy release dates and all platforms that the game will be available on:
- February 10, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC
- April 4, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
- July 25, 2023 for Nintendo Switch
Everything we learned about Hogwarts Legacy in 2023
Fans look at the game with high hopes. Thanks to the very smart pre-release marketing, Avalanche studios has been building anticipation by sharing with players, the game details each day! As a result, we already learned a lot of new potions characters and spells in 2023. However, there are some details that developers still haven’t shared like talents tree and skills. For now, we can present everything we learned about Hogwarts Legacy in 2023!

On January 12 2023 developers posted the final PC System Requirements

New Official Cinematic Trailer
On the official Hogwarts Legacy Youtube Channel, on January 18 2023 Avalanche studios has posted a new Cinematic Trailer. It features new spells and hints at some main story elements!

Here is some helpful information:
- In the trailer at 0:37 we can see two characters casting spells and fighting with giant spades called Acromantula. They cast two spells Glacio and Incendio. The second one was showcased in a short video on Twitter at the beginning of the year, more on that later. However, The first spell “Glacio” is new and we haven’t seen it before in any gameplay or trailer. It’s a charm that with icy-cold air coming from the tip of the wand, freezes the target.
- In the trailer at 0:43 we can see the man who captured Hippogriff and is trying to catch and kill the owl using the Avada Kedavra spell. Again, we’ll talk about spells later, so let’s focus on the Hippogriff.
- During the Gameplay Showcase II (starts at 6:18) we could see how players can summon and fly on Hippogriffs
- Is the creature that we see in the trailer THE Hippogriff that the player will have to save from his captor? it is confirmed, that we will see a quest related to the Hippogriff.
- Is one of the companions, Natsai Onai somehow linked to the Hippogriff quest and how the player will obtain this majestic magical creature? We can see hints in the first Official Gameplay Trailer.
- Taming and Caring for Fantastic Beasts – Here is the post that will explain everything we know about Vivarium and magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy.
- At the end of the video, the Owl brought a letter for the player’s character, foreshadowing how the story of Hogwarts Legacy begins.

- The spell was showcased in the Latest Official Trailer at 0:43
- We could see it in action during the Gameplay showcase in Dark Arts Battle Arena at 13:46
- It has a unique green glow and sound effect.
- It’s one of 3 Unforgivable courses that instantly kills the target
- However, we don’t know if the spell will be just another tool for players to use freely or if will they be punished for using it.

Accio Spell

- We know that it can be used to pull objects to a player also the spell can help with exploration by interacting with objects to solve puzzles.

Professors and Characters in Hogwarts Legacy
Firstly, we could hear about professors and their role in Hogwarts Legacy in Official Trailer early in 2022. Just like in any RPG game NPC characters have a big influence on players’ experience. The more complex characters are in the game, the better and more engaging are the story and worldbuilding. Lately, we have learned about 4 very intriguing characters.
