Fallout 4 How to Get Big Boy

To get Big Boy in Fallout 4, you must find Arturo Rodriquez at the Commonwealth Weaponry at Diamond City Market. Diamond City Market is one of the main locations in Fallout 4, and the third main story quest, ‘Jewel of the Commonwealth,’ will lead you to it. Additionally, you can come across Diamond City Market independently while exploring.

However, Big Boy is the most expensive weapon in the game. If you do not have any points in Charisma or additional bobblehead or magazine perks, it can set you back over 14,000 caps. Therefore, there is no reason to rush to this location in the early game, as it will likely take some time for you to build up a stash of caps large enough to afford it.

How to use Big Boy

In Fallout 4, Big Boy is potentially the most powerful weapon in the game, with a two-shot effect that boosts damage and a powerful explosion from which you need to keep your distance. The Two Shot modifier means that two projectiles are launched each time you fire the gun. Furthermore, what’s great about this effect is that it does not impact your ammo stock. The second projectile is ‘free.’ However, the downside is that you will have somewhat reduced accuracy and have a chance at a much greater recoil. This weapon is enhanced by a Demolition expert, a heavy gunner, and bloody mess perks. We recommend this build for any Demolition Expert or Explosive build in Fallout 4.

Especially with the extra mini-nuke, the Big Boy is capable of massive damage. Consequently, we’ve ranked it in the number two spot in our Best Heavy Weapons Tier List. However, this is a weapon you will want to use at long (or carefully judged medium) range only. If you’re too close, the mini nukes’ explosion can backfire and damage you, too!
