Game Controls Guide for Tears of the Kingdom
Below will be a quick reference list of all the game controls for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While the game will give you a quick reference for basic controls, we will be including a list for other actions such as combat, gliding, swimming, climbing and horseback riding.
Basic Game Controls
You can find this clean layout of the buttons and the basic game actions they produce within the game itself. Simply click the +button to open the inventory and the R button to go all the way to the right until you reach the System option at the end.
Combat Controls

| Continuous Attack | Y Button multiple times |
| Dash Attack | Y Button during Dash |
| Jump Attack | Jump and press the Y Button |
| Rotating Slash | Turn Left Stick and press the Y Button |
| Rush Attack | Dodge and press the Y Button |
| Throw Weapon | Hold R Button |
| Arrow Shot | Hold ZR Button |
| Hold Shield | ZL Button |
| Perfect Guard | ZL Button and press the A Button |
| Side Jump | ZL Button + Left Stick (Move Horizontally) + X Button |
Gliding Controls
| Open Paraglider | X Button |
| Close Paraglider | B Button |
| Arrow Shot | Hold ZR Button |
| Direct Paraglider | Press L stick in direction you wish to go (uses stamina) |
Swimming Controls
| Fast swim | X Button (Uses additional stamina) |
| Spin Attack | Y Button (Zora’s Helmet must be equipped) |
Climbing Controls
| Jump | X Button (Uses additional stamina) |
| Let go | B Button |
Horseback riding Controls
| Change Direction | Left Stick |
| Acceleration | A Button |
| Deceleration | Pull back on Left Stick |
| Jump | Y Button |
| Appease | L Button |
