Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gi Nattak might be a boss you can fight in the new game. However, he is not an enemy.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a lot of bosses in the game. Some are evil, but others are not. You will have to fight Gi Nattak in Chapter 10, but he is far from a malicious enemy. On the contrary, he will help and guide you in the last section of the Watcher of the Vale mission. But first, we need to understand who Gi Nattak is. He is the guardian of the caves in Cosmo Canyon; he protects the sacred trial grounds from the hands of greedy and unworthy outsiders. We will encounter him when Barret, Red XIII, and Bugenhagen go inside the cave so Red XIII can take part in the trials.
In this guide, we will take a look at how you can defeat Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gi Nattak easily.
Gi Nattak Stats

Here is a list of Gi Nattak’s HP in Normal and hard difficulty:
Stat | Normal | Hard |
HP | 52602 | 112677 |
The Gi Nattak boss fight is one of the more challenging boss fights in the game. At the start of the fight, you will get debuffs. Additionally, your party will be smaller than usual, consisting only of Barret and Red XIII. If you stagger the boss, the curses he uses on you will go away. However, in the later stages of the fight, the boss will use the doom curse. This means that after a certain time, all of your party members will die. So you will have to deal with the boss as quickly as possible. Also, keep in mind that Gi Nattak has no elemental weaknesses, which means we won’t have any advantage in the fight.
How To Defeat Gi Nattak?
Phase 1

The first thing we need to keep in mind is that there is no way to defeat Gi Nattak other than to keep pressuring it to stagger. The assessment shows us that he does not have any weaknesses, but it also shows us that he is not immune to poison. So pack some bio-materia before you head into this fight. If you don’t have it and you are already in the fight, that is okay too; we will just have to rely on our normal attacks and abilities.
Gi Nattak has a lot of attacks that will frustrate you. He will use his wide-reaching attacks like Anguished Thrashing, and in addition to that, he will use Withering Grip to bind one of your party members. When one of the members gets caught, switch immediately and start attacking it. The Withering Grip attack drains the life away from the party member and heals Gi Nattak. He will also cast a drain cone given the opportunity, but it is fairly easy to dodge.
Additionally, Gi Nattak also has an AoE attack. He will cast Phantasmal Scourge to attack you throughout the arena. You know how to deal with this: keep moving and dodging.
But he won’t just stop there. He will also fire orbs at you using the Spectral Flames. As we discussed, the only way to defeat this boss is to keep attacking and building the stagger meter. Dodge the attacks and don’t stop putting pressure on it. Once it reaches around seventy percent of its health, Phase 2 will begin.

Phase 2

During the cutscene, Gi Nattak will spawn many Soul Flames in the arena to distract you. These minions don’t have a lot of HP, so eliminate them first and focus on the main boss. The boss will now proceed to cast the Execration of the Gi. Also, keep in mind that if any of the Soul Flames touch you, you will be cursed. Now we are going to repeat the attack process. Your main goal is to increase the stagger meter. When Gi Nattak reaches forty percent of his health, he will introduce a new attack.
Crushing Resentment will create a giant purple orb that will pull you toward it and then explode. When Gi Nattak activates this attack, run in the other direction. If none of these attacks work on you and you successfully avoid them, the boss will now cast the doom curse on your party. At this point in the fight, it becomes a race of who will die first.
Once doom is cast, you have nothing to lose and a short amount of time to finish the boss fight. He will now use all of the old attacks we just mentioned and will go for a Withering Grip. Don’t get caught, as we don’t want to give him any more health. Now throw everything you have at him, including synergy abilities and limit breaks. Keep damaging him and staggering him. You will eventually defeat him, and the doom curse will go away.
