Avowed is an RPG with many fun mechanics. However, the game does not feature a digging mechanic to dig up treasures. The game features various loot containers hidden in difficult-to-find locations. The loot containers can be of any kind, such as chests, lockboxes, backpacks, crates, or corpses. None of the treasures or loot are buried underground for you to dig up. This guide explains how you can find treasures in Avowed.

Even if you cannot dig up treasures in Avowed, hidden chests can be located using treasure maps, which often provide clues through riddles and visual landmarks. For example, you can find Captain Henqua’s Spoils at the top of the lighthouse in Claviger’s Landing. The clues lead to a chest near a river east of the Old Pargrun Wall, which contains the Wind and Wave shield.

Another example is Woedica’s Inheritance. Players can purchase it from Sanza’s Emporium in Paradis. The clues lead players to a treasure chest hidden behind a secret wall in Paradis. This chest rewards them with the Gloves of the Strangler, which are useful for stealth builds. Players should also investigate unusual environmental features. Cracked walls, wooden barriers, paintings, and statues might sometimes conceal treasure chests.

Additionally, destructible objects or secret compartments in dungeons often hide valuable rewards. Moreover, treasure chests can often be found in bandit camps and enemy strongholds, as they are hidden within Xaurip lairs, cultist hideouts, or abandoned ruins. Lastly, you can obtain valuable loot by defeating enemy groups in these areas, with some chests guarded or hidden in hard-to-reach locations.
