At your camp, you’ll find a small rock formation where you can place the totem. There are four distinct totems tied to different gods that you can collect and assemble. However, you can only have one totem and its associated passives active at any given time.

The Sacrificial Dagger fragment for the Skaen Totem of Defiance in Avowed is relatively easy to find, on the back of a building holding a note in the Abandoned Farms location. This area is north of where you start your adventure in Emerald Stair and is also directly north of Fior mes Iverno.
The dagger will be stabbed into a wooden wall, holding a note in place. You can read the note if you wish, then take the Sacrificial Dagger for yourself.
How to Find Idol of Covert Plots Fragment of Skaen Totem of Defiance
The Idol of Covert Plots fragment for the Skaen Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found near the Infested Camp on the west side of the Grim Wetlands. This area is northwest of Fior mes Iverno, past the Sunken Village. There is a ruined home here, but you will not be able to get inside because all doors are blocked to normal entry.
Therefore, you will need to travel a bit south following the rocky wall until you can turn right. Head up into the Infested Camp and defeat the enemies that you find there. Then you can head back east towards the building. You will now be able to jump on the roof from the cliff edge. Inside you’ll find the Idol of Covert Plots resting within the wood placed on a shrine.
How to Find Obsidian Prayer Beads Fragment of Skaen Totem of Defiance
The Obsidian Prayer Beads fragment for the Skaen Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found at the far west portion of The Delemgan Glade. Start at the fast travel beacon that sits just at the end of the bridge leading into the Glade. Walk across the bridge and head to the right. Keep right as you fight through enemies here. You should see a large arch or dark hole as if it leads into a cave. Go through there and keep the right.
Next, this area will open up a bit so light starts to come through, but continue to stay to the right. Look ahead for where a large branch sticks out over the pathway. Walk underneath and past it, then turn around to look back at it. You should clearly see a path where you can walk up the branch to the stone ledge above.
Finally, when you reach the top of the branch, turn left and you should see the stone leading out over to another ledge. Run over and jump the gap across. You’ll find yourself on a stone platform, with the Obsidian Prayer Beads next to a skeleton.
How to Find Idol of Secret Hatred Fragment of Skaen Totem of Defiance
The Idol of Secret Hatred fragment for the Skaen Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found inside the Ancient Grotto dungeon. The entrance to this extensive cave area is northwest of Naku Tedek Grounds or southwest of the Ranger Outpost. Both locations have either a fast travel beacon or a party camp you can use.
First, when you enter the cave head straight until you reach the first open area and take a left. This pathway will take you to another open cave area where cross by jumping right and then to the upper left. At the next fork in the path go left again. Finally, you should see a small opening on the right. Crouch down to get through and you’ll find the Idol of Secret Hatred next to a skeleton.
How to Find Effigy Necklace Fragment of Skaen Totem of Defiance
The Effigy Necklace fragment for the Skaen Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found in Naku Tedek itself. You can visit the Naku Tedek Grounds at any time while exploring, but you will go inside as part of a main story quest.
Head past the large Adra crystal and go down the stairs behind it. At the bottom, turn to the left to find a door with a glowing blue shield symbol over top of it. At the bottom of the stairs leading to it is an ‘electrical’ box. Use Giatta’s utility ability, an electrical grenade, or your own spell to activate the box. The door will open and you can go through.
Inside, turn to the left and look over to see a branch and ledge across the water. Use a freezing grenade or shoot the Eye of Rymgand with a bow and arrow. Then you can use the ice to reach the branch. Up on the ledge, you’ll find a table with a dagger and the Effigy Necklace.
How to Find Idol of Violent Rebellion Fragment of Skaen Totem of Defiance
The Idol of Violent Rebellion fragment for the Skaen Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found at the Ranger Headquarters in eastern Emerald Stair at the top of the watch tower. You won’t find clear stairs to climb up either from the outside or inside.
However, around the exterior, you will find a wooden awning covering a table and some shelves, with some crates or boxes not too far away. Get on top of the boxes and jump over to catch the edge of the awning. Then, climb the ladder to start making your way up.
There will be a couple more ladders to climb and wooden platforms to jump between, but eventually, you will reach the top. On a stack of boxes, you will find the golden outline highlighting the location of the Idol of Violent Rebellion.
How to Find The Schemer’s Offering Base of Skaen Totem of Defiance
The Schemer’s Offering base fragment for the Totem of Defiance in Avowed can be found at the Shrine of Skaen near The Delemgan Glade. The Delemgan Glade is far to the west of Fior mes Iverno, and you will eventually be led there by a quest. Like before, this is an open-air shrine.
You will be able to walk right up to The Schemer’s Offering base and take it without much trouble.
