How To Find and Defeat Shadow Yamabushi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Find and defeat the Shadow Yamabushi, which is one of the nine from the Yamabushi Imposter Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Out of the various organisations present in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which have to be taken down by Naoe and Yasuke, the Yamabushi Imposters are one of them. In this guide, we will look at how to find and defeat the Shadow Yamabushi.

There are nine Yamabushis present on the entire map. The Shadow Yamabushi, at first glance, immediately seems suspicious. The imposter is not meditating or praying.

Find the Shadow Yamabushi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Shadow Yamabushi was seen in the region of Iga. More specifically, in Otogi Pass to the north of Kasuga Shrine and near the Fibuyashi Clan Graveyard. To travel to this location, fast travel is available upwards of the Kasuga Shrine. This fast travel will take you straight to a vantage point on a cliff. Right below you, the Shadow Imposter sits perching by the tip of the cliff.

Assassinate the Shadow Yamabushi

He is one of the several rumored imposters who use the garb of Yamabushis as a disguise to attack innocent civilians. Depending upon various factors, the Shadow impersonator is likely to spawn at various locations. One of the locations is at the top of a cliff, and the other is by a campfire near a tent.

Try to reach a location right above the imposter; you will then be prompted with an option to perform an assassination from above. This will instantly eliminate the need to engage in a duel and instead finish off the opponent in a single blow.

The moment you land your blow, the entire screen switches to a white sketched background with just you and the imposter in the shades of black ink. This indirectly states that the imposter has been executed, finishing the part of the mission.

After killing this Yamabushi, you receive three rewards.

1. Yomi’s Retribution – Epic Kusarigama
2. Critical Chance of Consecutive Hits – Engraving
3. Mon – 260
