How to Find and Pray at Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows features several historic shrines set in scenic locations across its nine regions. These are usually located on top of hills and mountains and offer breathtaking views in addition to experience and Knowledge Points. Exploration is a key part of Shadows, and it is made all the more rewarding because of the shrines you may find along the way.

The Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine is a prominent landmark in Yamashiro. However, its location in a corner of the Ogura Pond island may have caused some players to miss it. Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine contains three small shrines or prayer sites within it. Praying at all three will reward you for completing the shrine and help progress your Knowledge Rank.

Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine can be found on the western end of Ogura Pond island, which is located at the southern border of the Yamashiro region. You may have visited Ogura Pond for The Bad Brother main story quest to assassinate The Fool. Travel to the island and head to its westernmost point to find Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine. The shrine is considerably larger than most others in the game, and its grand structures can be spotted some distance away.

Once you have reached the shrine, head through its entrance and into the courtyard. To the left, you will see a pillared structure with steps leading up to it. Approach the steps and press the interact button (E on PC) when prompted. A prayer animation will begin; wait for it to conclude before finding the other sites.

Run up the main steps and into the shrine’s second courtyard. The second prayer site will be on the left, and its structure will be identical to the first. Repeat the same prayer process as before, then advance to the final site.

Turn right after praying at the second shrine. Head past the mossy stone lamp and go straight on the wide path of the courtyard. Climb the steps to the main shrine, stopping short of the wooden stairs. Pray at the site to complete the exploration of Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine.

Like most shrines in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine rewards you with 500 XP and one Knowledge Point after praying at all its sites.
