How to Get Hoarfrost Boots in BG3?
To get the Hoarfrost Boots in BG3, you must reach Crèche Y’llek during Act 1 and find a way into the Inquisitor’s Chambers. You’ll need to bring down a barrier in the Captain’s Quarters on the east side of the Creche in order to reach this space. Moreover, be aware that going into the Inquisitor’s Chambers will advance the story and can make the Creche hostile to you. Consequently, be sure to fully explore and visit the doctor in the Infirmary to use the Zaith’isk Chair and receive the Awakened bonus.
Step 1- How to Unlock the Inquisitor’s Chambers
Next, head to the Captain’s Quarters. Speak to Kith’rak Therezzyn, and you can choose whether to hand over the Astral Prism or not. You can antagonize her into a fight and loot the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor. Another option is that you can pickpocket it from her instead.
Step 2- Inside the Inquisitor’s Chambers
Then, take the Githyanki Barrier Disruptor to the console near the archway and use it to open the barrier. Make your way down the stone path into the Inquisitor’s Chambers. Don’t try to explore here, the Inquisitor will get impatient. Speak to him, and then play the extended scene out.
Finally, when it’s over you will be free to move around. Head into the small alcove on the left/west side of the room. Search the display case and inside you will find the Hoarfrost Boots.
How to Use Hoarfrost Boots in BG3?
The best way to use the Hoarfroast Boots in Baldur’s Gate 3 is to equip them to a Fighter, Barbarian, Cleric, or other frontline melee damage dealer. Then, you can more easily use some of the spells that create icy terrain in BG3. Some of the best spell options for creating icy terrain are Chromatic Orb: Cold, Ice Knife, and Ice Storm.
Additionally, you can use any character with a bow to fire Arrows of Ice. These single-use projectiles not only deal weapon damage but explode in a blast of ice. This deals additional Cold damage and creates icy terrain in a 2-meter radius of the hit. Fire one of these into a pack of mobs and you can knock several down. Next, send in your melee character with Hoarfrost Boots equipped and they can get in some hits with Advantage without risk of falling down themselves.
