First, the Aggressive Debate enchantment bonus will boost your attack speed by 15% for 10 seconds every time you complete a full combo attack. Secondly, the Dawn’s Remembrance enchantment is a passive bonus that gives you a +10% bonus to Poison Damage for all hits you make with this weapon.
Additionally, the primary enchantment, Aggressive Debate, can be upgraded on your Workbench in camp. In Avowed, you have the option to select one of two possible upgrades for a weapon’s primary enchantment.

How to Get The Philosopher’s Riddle in Avowed?
To get The Philosopher’s Riddle great sword in Avowed, you’ll need to find the island of Castol’s Folly southeast of Paradis, and climb to the top of the structure on the northwest side of the island.
Castol’s Folly is an area with some of the strongest enemies in the first region of Dawnshore. Before you head out, be prepared with lots of health regeneration consumables and potions. Additionally, you can also find other points of interest on Castol’s Folly including a bounty mark and one of the pieces of the Woedica Totem.
Make your way to the island and fight and explore your way through to the western side. There, you can climb up and find some platforms that will lead you over to the structure on the northwest side. Keep jumping and climbing and you will eventually reach the top. The Philosopher’s Riddle will be plain to see as soon as you reach the main stone platform. It is buried tip-first into a grassy area overgrown with mushrooms.
How to Use The Philosopher’s Riddle in Avowed?
The Philosopher’s Riddle is a unique two-handed great sword, with attacks that take a slower swing, but also deal more damage than regular swords. The Aggressive Debate enchantment grants a nice boost to attack speed whenever you complete a full attack combo. However, this will take good player skill to trigger at higher levels of difficulty because you don’t want to break the combo. Significantly, you can be interrupted while fighting, or need to block or dodge an attack.
However, the second enchantment bonus is passive, and therefore you do not have to meet any conditions to trigger it. Poison Lash will give you a 10% boost to Poison Damage on any hit with this weapon.
Enchanting The Philosopher’s Riddle in Avowed
The enchanting system in Avowed only allows you to upgrade or morph the primary enchantment on a weapon. In this case, The Philosopher’s Riddle has a primary enchantment called Aggressive Debate, which temporarily boosts attack speed by 10% anytime you complete a full attack combo. When you visit the enchanting station in camp, you will see there are two potential upgrades to the Aggressive Debate enchantment in Avowed:
