Learn how to find Oracle Luz to unlock the Trickster Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The Trickster is a hybrid vocation and highly specialized support class that excels in deception and crowd control. In combat, this new Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocation (Class) uses a unique weapon called Censor and smoke-based skills to confuse and disorient its enemies. It is one of six vocations you must unlock before playing it. However, this vocation is the best if you need a support role with good crowd-control abilities. Your pawns cannot use this vocation, so it’s only available for Arisen.
How to Unlock Trickster Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To unlock the Trickster Vocation, visit the Temple in Battahl, south of Rest Town, and speak with Oracle Luz. You’ll eventually get there by following the main quest storyline, but you can go there early if you wish. Unlocking the Trickster Vocation costs 50 gold.
Enter Battahl
There are few options to enter Battahl, the kingdom of beastren race in Dragon’s Dogma 2. You can follow the main story to receive the permit and then travel to Rest Town by Ox card or by foot. Then buy Beastren Mask for 8,700 gold from Ibrahim’s Scrap Shop. Equip the mask and guars should let you into the new desert area.
Alternatively, if you arrive at the gate when the ox cart passes, you may attempt to sneak inside it. Do not move when they open the gate for the carriage. Leave the carriage when you are safely a few meters behind the gate. However, this requires you to be there at the exact time in the morning, and all guards may attack you if they notice you or you move your character inside the carriage, which carries the consequences.
You can also take the path leading to the west side of the map and around the main gate. Follow the river west into a mountain pass.
Visit the Temple
Follow the main path south. As soon as you notice on your minimap and pass by two caves, Rocky Crevasse, and Rocky Lair, turn right to the northeast to find the temple building where you will meet Oracle Luz.
However, be aware that enemies in desert areas are at a higher level than those in starting locations, so we advise you to be at least level 22-25 to go there. You can try avoiding encounters and going there early, but it might be challenging.
Speak with Oracle Luz to unlock Trickster Vocation
Once you enter the temple, you should be able to easily follow the stairs and meet the Oracle Luz. She will immediately recognize you as an Arisen and offer to teach you Trickster Vocation. You only need to pay Luz 50 gold to get a Trickster Vocation.
Look around. If you climb the ladder to the top of the temple, you’ll find Oracle again in her human form. Speak with her again, and you should receive the Theurgist’s Rite scroll, which will allow you to learn the Dragon’s Delusion skill—the ultimate Maister skill for Trickster Vocation.
