The First Descendant Best Gold and Kuiper Farms

Traditionally, games in the looter shooters genre are known for grinding various materials and farming weapons, and The First Descendant is no exception. With hundreds of materials to collect it can be daunting to find good sources to collect necessary materials. Since Gold and Kuiper are used for nearly everything in the game, we will show you the best way to farm for them in the First Descendant.

Why Farm Gold and Kuiper?

Gold and Kuiper are two of the most important and useful resources in the game. For example, you need Gold for researching crafting patterns for making your Descendants or Ultimate weapons. Also, you need Kuiper and Gold to enhance your modules which are paramount for boosting your weapons and Descendants’ power.

Enhancing modules is one of the most important tasks for building your Descednant and weapons. Unfortunately, they are incredibly expensive to upgrade the higher the rarity of the modules. So, having a surplus of easily obtainable Gold and Kuiper can help you spend less time farming and more time gaming.

Best Gold and Kuiper Farm

The Best Gold and Kuiper farm in the First Descendant is found in the Fortress region of the world map. A repeatable mission called Defense Line: Vulgus Strategic Outpost provides a constant supply of trash enemies that you can farm for a multitude of resources.

If optimized properly, players can make upwards of six hundred thousand Kuiper Shards and twelve million Gold per hour. Also, a massive benefit of this farm is that you will be constantly collecting resources as you reapply the area-damaging skill. This reduces any additional time spent gathering all of the loot between runs.

How to Set Up the Best Gold and Kuiper Farm

To set up the Best Gold and Kiuper Farm, you will need to have the Hard mode of the map unlocked after completing the campaign, as higher difficulty increases rewards. Also, you should either have Valby yourself or have a friend join you on Valby. Other characters can do the farm but the efficiency will drop tremendously without Valby. Make sure to have your map set to private before teleporting to the Fortress as random players can complete the mission early and cause it to be on a restart timer.

To optimize the Gold and Kuiper farm in the First Descendant, you will need a few things unlocked first. Below is a list of items to help you farm:

  • Complete the campaign and unlock “Hard” World Difficulty
  • Set your Map to Private
  • Have Access to the Descendant Valby
  • Have Skill Duration, Skill Cooldown, and Skill Power mods on Valby

Destroy the Vulgus Power Units

After spawning into the Fortress Defense Line location, head to the outpost. After entering the ring of the structure, enemies will spawn as well as four Vulgus Power Units. You will need to destroy all four of the power units to spawn the boss and begin the best Gold and Kuiper farm in the First Descendant.

Farming Route

After you destroy the power units and the elite boss Vulgus spawns make your way to the outer ring. All of the enemies you will farm will spawn in this outer area. This is where you need Valby, as her “Clean Up” skill allows her to place a damaging water path in the spawn locations, immediately killing any enemies that spawn. The faster you wipe out each wave the faster the next wave spawns.

One of the most important parts of the farm is not to kill the boss. Killing the boss will end the activity and force a five-minute timer at the location before you can start the farm again. This is why Valby is better than Bunny, as she has more control over where her damage is hitting, and she can cover all the spawns at the same time, eliminating enemies as soon as they spawn.

Resetting the Farm

The Outpost has a timer in which you normally must kill the boss for loot and rewards. Once the timer ends, the activity fails and the boss will despawn. You simply need to leave the outer ring of the structure and step back in to respawn the power units. Destroy all four again to summon the boss and start farming again. Continue to repeat this until your inventory is full or loot or until you are tired of farming.
