You likely discovered Device Dispensers while travelling across the enchanting world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game, but what are those and how to use them?

In the Legend of Zelda, Device Dispensers are remnants of an ancient civilization in Hyrule. Additionally, you will often find next to those mysterious machines one or more Zonai Constructs. This guide will explain more about Zonai Devices. Also, their role in the game and how to activate and use the Zonai Device Dispensers.
Device Dispensers in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Device Dispensers are special Zonai remnants scattered around the Hyrule and can supply Link with various functional Zonai Devices. As a result, you can use them to craft weapons or structures with Ultrahand and Fuse abilities. There are 27 Zonai Devices and 28 Device Dispensers in the game. However, each dispenser can offer different zonai devices. Also, if you used a specific dispenser, you can see exactly which devices it dropped by opening the map and hovering the pointer over the dispenser map location.
All Zonai Devices from Device Dispensers
Device Dispensers can generate the following Zonai Devices:
Zonai Device | Description |
---|---|
Mirror | Focuses and reflects light. Use it to provide extended-distance illumination. |
Balloon | When filled with hot air ascends to the air. Also, the hotter air, the faster it raises. |
Spring | A trampoline, when activated, expands and bounces objects into the air. |
Wing | A harness lifts to ride the wind and slowly falls. Furthermore, you can adjust its path by balancing at the centre. |
Hover Stone | Can control and defy gravity. |
Fan | Produces wind, can transport objects and generate trust. |
Portable Pot | Used on flat surfaces to cook only one recipe, it can be used as a cooking pot. |
Electric Fan | Produces wind, can transport objects and generate trust. However, it’s stronger than a regular Fan |
Small Tire | Weel that spins, yet designed for flat surfaces. |
Big Tire | Weel that spins, designed for any terrain. |
Construct Head | Always faces the detected enemy. |
Cart | If powered, it moves efficiently over flat surfaces. |
Battery | Maintains Zonai-charge energy, also can extend duration or power other Zonai devices. |

Zonai Devices from Device Dispensers:
Zonai Device | Description |
---|---|
Rocket | Produces powerful thrust but burns out quickly |
Steering Stick | Can control the direction and activate all connected devices when attached to the ride. |
Time Bomb | Creates timed explosion that can activate other Zonai devices. |
Cannon | Cannon that shoot projectiles that explode on contact. |
Flame Emitter | Shoots fire and can be used as a weapon against monsters. |
Frost Emitter | Shoots frost and can be used as a weapon against monsters. |
Shock Emitter | Shoots lighting and can be used as a weapon against monsters. |
Beam Emitter | Shoots beam of light can be used as a weapon against monsters. |
Hydrant | Gushes water when struck. |
Sled | A slick platform that minimizes friction. |
Big Battery | Maintains a big portion of Zonai-charge energy and can extend duration or power other Zonai devices. |
Stabilizer | Stands upright when activated and can lift up anything attached to it. |
Stake | When placed in the ground or on a wall is immovable and sturdy. |
Homing Cart | Automatically detects and charges into monsters. |
How to activate and use Device Dispensers
To activate the Device Dispensers, place in the bowl any Zonai material, for example, charge or construct horns. You can find all those materials by defeating constructs or inside construct remains.
- To activate Zonai Device Dispensers, follow the steps:
- Firstly, enter your inventory by pressing the “+” button.
- Use “ZR” and “ZL” to find the materials tab and find inside Zonai parts.
- Press “A” and choose the “hold” option.
- When Link holds the number of materials, you must exit the inventory (“B”) and place them in the green bowl.
- The Device Dispenser will generate random Devices for you
- Don’t forget to collect them!
