The First Descendant allows for a lot of customization to your characters and weapons as you level them up. Weapon Proficiency is similar to levels for Descendants so it can be reset to change to affinity of module slots. This allows you to slot more powerful and upgraded modules into the weapon.
What is Weapon Proficiency in The First Descendant
In the First Descendant Weapon Proficiency works like leveling weapons in similar games. You will gain experience for killing enemies and completing activities. However, unlike other games, you can reset your proficiency upon reaching level 40. Upon resetting, you can change the affinity of a module slot, increasing the amount of fully upgraded modules you can slot.
Why is Weapon Proficiency Important
Weapon Proficiency is incredibly important for increasing the power of your weapons and your account overall. Ranking up weapon proficiency to level 40 the first time on each weapon gives a Mastery Rank, which increases your available power across all descendants and weapons. Also, it allows you to swap the module socket type to reduce the module cost of max-level modules.
Weapon proficiency uses explained in The First Descendant:
- Mastery Rank – Increases overall account power
- Module Socket Affinity – Decreases module cost in half
Mastery Rank is a leveling system that benefits players leveling all descendants and weapons available in the game. This progress is account-wide and can benefit you with additional module capacity in weapons and descendants and increase your inventory and storage space. Mastery rank is only gained by completing missions and leveling up your weapons and descendants to level 40 their first time.
Also, Module Socket Affinity increases your available module capacity by reducing the module cost by half if you slot the correct module in a matching slot. This effectively increases the damage a weapon can do by slotting max upgraded modules.
How to Farm Weapon Proficiency
The best activities to farm for weapon proficiency in The First Descendant are Special Operations. These activities offer high enemy density with constant waves of enemies for experience.
In order to farm Weapon Proficiency you need to do one thing: kill enemies. It doesn’t matter whether its skills that kill the enemies or the weapon so Bunny is very strong for leveling weapons fast and easily. Also, you gain experience on all weapon you currently have equipped; however, your weapon you have out will gain additional experience. So if you aren’t currently using all your weapon slots for damage, be sure to equip extra weapons to gain proficiency on them passively.
