Avowed, the fantasy RPG by Obsidian Entertainment, takes you through the mysterious fictional world of Eora. Every choice you make in the first-person RPG has a lasting impact on the narration, shaping the fate of Living Lands, its people, and its creatures.

As you stick deeper with the main story, you will miss several side content, especially if you reach a point of no return. Once you get past these points, you can’t revisit previous areas, as the game’s narrative pushes you forward and locks out unfinished content that is left back. Knowing the point of no return is essential to ensuring you complete all side content before moving forward. Avowed features multiple points of no returns and we have explained them in this guide.

Avowed has three points of no return throughout its narration, preventing you from revisiting previous areas.

  • During the main story quest Ancient Soil, you will enter the ruins of ‘Naku Tedek’ located south of Emerald Stair. Entering the Naku Tedek underground marks the first point of no return, restricting access to Fior mes Iverno. It is recommended to complete any unfinished activities in Dawnshore and Emerald Stair before proceeding.
  • Entering the Graden at the Galawain’s Tusks during Our Dreams Divide Us Still, one of the end-game story missions serves as the true point of no return of Avowed. The final objective of the quest requires you to enter the garden. Doing so will completely cut off your access to the base game and all side quests. Fortunately, you will receive a point of no return warning before entering the garden. Utilize this opportunity to complete any remaining side content.
  • Lastly, the final boss fight during The Siege of Paradis mission serves as the final point of no return. Defeating the final boss triggers the game’s ending and its climactic cutscenes. Since Avowed doesn’t feature end-game free-roam content or New Game Plus, it is recommended to save your game before approaching the final boss.
