There are 22 Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant, below, you’ll learn all their stats, how to get them, and recommended characters.
In The First Descendant, every character can equip three weapons in their arsenal, allowing for a versatile and strategic approach. That allows players to be prepared for every scenario and opponent. Alongside these primary weapons, Descendants have access to sub-weapons and other equipment, providing various options to enhance combat effectiveness.
However, not all weapons will work optimally with every character; matching weapons with the best-suited characters is crucial based on their role, abilities, and stats. Each weapon falls under a specific rarity category—Common (White), Standard (Blue), Rare (Purple), and Ultimate, also called legendary (Yellow/Gold). These weapons can be upgraded at the Workbench in Albion through different enhancements such as Weapon Level Transmissions, Unique Ability Enhancements, Reactor Enhancements, and Weapon Adjustments.
Here is a detailed look at some of the Ultimate (Yellow/Gold) weapons, their stats, special abilities, pros and cons, and the best Descendants to wield them.
This guide has been updated for Hotfix 1.0.5 of The First Descendant.

How to Get Ultimate Weapons?
In The First Descendant, ultimate weapons offer powerful abilities and can greatly enhance your character’s performance. Here’s how you can get them:
Drops from Bosses and Dungeons: You can obtain ultimate weapons by defeating bosses or completing dungeons. These activities often reward you with loot, and sometimes, you’ll get an ultimate weapon.
Missions: Completing specific missions can also provide you with ultimate weapons. Keep an eye on mission rewards to see if an ultimate weapon is up for grabs.
Crafting in Albion: You can craft ultimate weapons at the Workbench in Albion (check the map above for reference). To research and craft weapons, you need:
- A specific Mastery Rank
- Research Materials (like Nano Tubes, Polymer Syncytium, Synthetic Fiber)
- The blueprint for the weapon
- In-game currency
You can get all research materials and fragments through quests, drops, RNG, 4-player activities, etc. Moreover, to research weapons, you must have a specific mastery rank that is essentially an account-wide level of your progress. You gain it naturally as you play and can swap guns/characters. It still applies Mastery Rank bonuses. Mastery ranks also unlock mods, slots, and much more, making them essential for progression in The First Descendant.
Best Method to Farm Ultimate Weapons in The First Descendant
The best way to farm research fragments and get ultimate weapons is through Void Intercept Battles in The First Descendant. You can join those four-player activities anytime, and the game will auto-group you. Void Intercept Battles are quick and easy to do. The individual bosses give you a heads-up before you jump in and join so you can target specific ones with some random chance of obtaining the items you need. You can select an RNG column at the end of the activity to get what you are after.
