Cloak of the Weave

Here are the best Cloaks to equip in Baldur’s Gate 3.

  1. Cloak of the Weave- A very rare Cloak that allows the wearer to absorb a small amount of magical damage, and add it to their next attack. It also gives better Spell Save DC and Spell Attack Rolls.
  2. Nymph Cloak- A very rare Cloak that allows the wearer to cast Dominate Person once per Long Rest.
  3. Shade-Slayer Cloak- A very rare Cloak that reduces the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while hiding.
  4. Mantle of the Holy Warrior- A very rare Cloak that grants the wearer the ability to cast Crusader’s Mantle.
  5. Wavemother’s Cloak- A rare Cloak that grants its wearer Water Layer Protection every turn.

1) Cloak of the Weave

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Cloak of the Weave is a great piece of end-game gear that you want to make sure you get for one of your spellcasters. The primary bonus on this cloak will grant you a full +1 bonus to Spell Save DC, as well as to spell attack rolls. Additionally, not only will it boost attack, but it also gives a great bonus to spell resistance. Absorb Elements is a perk that can activate once per Short Rest. When targeted by an elemental attack, you will take only the damage calculated. Furthermore, on your next attack, you will then deal an additional 1d6 of that same element.

It offers spell attack rolls that players can use to hit enemies and the enemies will have a harder time saving themselves. You can get the Cloak of the Weave in Baldur’s Gate 3 by making it to the Lower City in Act 3 and purchasing it from Helsik at the Devil’s Fee. The nearest waypoint to the Devil’s Fee is the Lower City Central Wall.

2) Nymph Cloak

Nymph Cloak is a clothing cloak gear from Ferg Drogher (X:45; Y:-102), a Vendor in Rivington during Act 3. It offers no AC Armour Class but a great Lvl 5 Spell from the Enchantment school that forces another humanoid to fight at your side. You can cast this spell once per short rest.

These bonuses make the Nymph Cloak suitable for any class and a helpful crowd-control spell for your team. You can equip it to your character’s chest slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. There are no requirements for this item. This excellent cloak is based on the Dominate Person spell it grants wearers with. You will have new temporary friends at your side if you use it correctly on Humanoid.

3) Shade-Slayer Cloak

Shade-Slayer Cloak is a very rare cloak in Baldur’s Gate 3 and you can buy it from a Sticky Dondo vendor in Guildhall during Act 3.  This cloak offers the Stealth Critical feature to the wielder. While Hiding, the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking is reduced by 1. This effect can stack. Any class or build can use this cloak and it is especially effective for Rangers and Rogues who use the sneak attack function to multiclass. You must access the Guild Hall in the Lower City during Act 3 to get the Shade-Slayer Cloak. Once you enter, you can purchase the Shade-Slayer Cloak directly from Sticky Dondo 900 gold. This is best for Rogues as it decreases the number needed for a critical hit by one.

4) Mantle of the Holy Warrior

The Mantle of the Holy Warrior provides the wearer access to the Crusader’s Mantle, a level 3 Evocation Spell. You can equip it to your character’s cloak slot in their inventory, providing this additional bonus and buff. Cloaks do not require the character to have any particular kind of armor proficiency. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character in your party. Mantle of the Holy Warrior is a great cloak equipped until you have access to the Crusader’s Mantle spell.

The Mantle of the Holy Warrior is available to purchase from Vicar Humbletoes in the Stormshore Tabernacle, City of Baldur’s Gate, during Act 3. The Tabernacle is located on the far east side of the city, conveniently located close to the Basilisk Gate Waypoint.

5) Wavemother’s Cloak

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Wavemother’s Cloak provides specific types of damage resistance but should be used carefully because it provides vulnerability to others. The single perk on this piece is called Damp Aegis. Its effect is that once per combat turn, the cloak will grant the wearer Water Layer Protection until they take damage.

Water Layer Protection is a condition in BG3 that protects you from Burning. Moreover, it will increase your resistance to Fire damage. And given the amount of fire damage found in the game, this could be very helpful. But be careful. Because while it raises Fire resistance, it, unfortunately, lowers the wearer’s resistance to both Lightning and Cold damage, as well.

Aesthetically, this piece is meant to pair with the Wavemother’s Robe. The Robe offers increased resistance to Fire and Cold damage, thus potentially offsetting the decrease for the latter. However, be cautious because you still want to avoid wearing this cloak into any fight with a lot of Lightning damage. To get the Wavemother’s Cloak in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to head towards the far southwest of the City in Act 3 until you reach the Water Queen’s House.
