Ubisoft has released three completely free quests for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, alongside the paid Expansion Pack. The Works of Luis Frois is the first of the three free story quests. However, unlike the expansion-related missions, the game presents these new missions in the same way as side quests, which might confuse many gamers. Thankfully, The Works of Luis Frois and the other two missions will have a marker on the map, and you can simply follow it to reach the starting location. This guide will walk you through it.

How To Complete The Works of Luis Frois Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To start The Works of Luis Frois quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will have to go to Azuchi, in the northern part of Omi, first. There, you will notice a diamond-shaped, black quest marker with white borders and an exclamation mark (!) in it. It will be somewhere in the south of the Merchants’ Quarters. However, if you do not find this quest, then it could mean that you did not install the 1.04 update. Also, to unlock The Works of Luis Frois quest, you must complete Yasuke’s “The Path He Walks” mission.

Once you have reached the mentioned location and have spoken to Luis Frois himself, he will ask you to find three missing notes for the Jesuit missionary. After that, you will find blue dots in potential hiding spots if you zoom in with the L2/LT buttons. Finding the dots does not require Eagle Vision. However, keep in mind that some of those blue dots are only placed there to distract you. Instead, we recommend that you eavesdrop on people’s conversations near the Merchants’ Quarter area.

The First Missing Notes Location

The first missing note is quite hard to find. From the starting location, head north. You will start hearing a mother scolding her child. This kid possesses the first missing note you are looking for. This conflict can be heard from a great distance, so it is hard to miss. All you have to do is approach the child and tell him that everything is going to be okay, and you will get the note.

Unlike the child, the thief of the second missing note is not a human. Surprisingly enough, while making your way through the Merchants’ Quarters area, you will hear some discussions about a bird. This feathery, winged creature has the second note you are looking for. Once you successfully eavesdrop on a conversation about the bird, its location will be marked on your compass. The bird has its nest on a rooftop close to the mother and child you previously encountered.

The Third Missing Note Location

The last missing note in The Works of Luis Frois quest is near the northern edge of the Merchants’ Quarters. There, you will find a girl crying. When you speak to her, she will tell you that the note you are looking for has fallen into the river. The note is still in one piece, but it has now traveled all the way to a restricted area surrounded by enemies. You can play this part of the mission in any way you wish, but we recommend playing as Naoe to take a stealthy approach.

Lastly, once you have the third note, simply report back to Luis Frois. He will give you the reward, and that will mark the end of The Works of Luis Frois DLC quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
