Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Stolen Faith Main Quest Walkthrough

Find Mitsumune and retrieve a sacred statue to complete the Stolen Faith main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows with the help of this guide.

After completing The Killing Field mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Naoe learns that Wada Koretake is at Amagasaki castle. The location is heavily fortified and she sets out to gather reinforcements for an attack against the Onryo in the Stolen Faith quest. The mission involves finding Mitsumune, the militia leader, and securing his martial support against Koretake. However, they aren’t too eager to besiege a castle with their dwindling numbers unless you can do something for them first. 

Find Mitsumune in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Kyonyo sends you to gather reinforcements from Mitsumune, providing you with intelligence about his whereabouts. Mitsumune is:

• In Izumi Settsu
• North of Amagasaki
• Camped at Nunobiki Falls

Open your map and locate Amagasaki in western Izumi Settsu. Find the river flowing toward Amagasaki and follow it north into the mountains to the Nunobiki Falls. You can also spend a scout on the map to discover the exact location through the fog of war. 

When you find the militia leader, he will be hesitant to join the attack. Mitsumune wants to defeat Wada Koretake as well. However, he feels that his faction lacks the numbers necessary and could face annihilation in a direct assault. To make matters worse, they are demoralized because of the loss of a sacred statue to bandits. Naoe agrees to retrieve the statue for them if it will motivate them enough to put their numbers behind her cause and take the battle to Wada Koretake. 

Retrieve the Statue 

Mitsumune furbishes you with the following intel about the statue:

• It was taken to Senri Hills
• It is at Toneyama Post Town 
• It is guarded by bandits

To find the bandits, you will have to venture northeast of Amagasaki. If you have discovered it, the bandit camp is directly east of the Koyana Ruins (Path of Valor). Head directly northeast of where “Senri Hills” is written on the map, and you will find the camp nestled along the mountainside. 

Attacking the Bandit Camp

There are many bandits at the Toneyama Post Town but they are scattered loosely throughout it. This makes the camp a prime target for a stealthy approach at day or night. 

• Enter the town through the main (southwestern) entrance by assassinating the bow-wielding bandit when he turns around on his patrol path.
• Hide behind the barricade on your left and assassinate the next bandit when he comes over to investigate the body. 
• Take cover in the bushes ahead and whistle to lure one of the bandits on the main road before stealth killing him.
• Move forward around the tree and whistle again to repeat the process on the second bandit.
• The statue is in the house with the walled compound ahead and to your left. 
• You can climb up the house using hay and boxes stacked against its wall. Spot all the enemies within the compound using the vantage point on the roof. 
• Climb down and lure the bandits sitting at its left entrance and hide in the bush for an easy assassination. 
• Move into the compound from the side entrance and enter the bush ahead, repeating the aforementioned trick to clear its ground floor.
• Head inside and pick up the statue in the corner.

Once you have the sacred statue, you can sneak back out of the camp and return to Mitsumune. The militia leader asks you to take the statue to Kyonyo and pledges his support in the fight to come. Congratulations! You have completed the Stolen Faith quest and are ready to progress the Heads Will Roll main mission.
