The new expansion brings a new subclass, Salvation’s Edge raid, with new weapons and gear, a power level increase, new exotic gear, and – never seen before – exotic class items. Also, the new base game update includes many class and weapon balance changes that influenced the Destiny 2 builds and meta.
Why Should You Play Stasis Titan in PvE?
This Stasis Titan build is one of the more fun builds to play in Destiny 2. The Stasis Titan’s strengths come out with the ability to stop enemies in their tracks and excellent ability uptime. We want to be constantly freezing our enemies and creating stasis crystals to break. Stasis Crystals not only freeze our enemies but cause decent damage on shatter. They also provide us with buffs to survivability when they are up and give us ability energy when we break them. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Stasis Titan PvE Build.

Abilities
The best abilities for the Hoarfrost-Z Stasis Titan PvE Build are Rally Barricade, Glacier Grenade, and Shiver Strike. The Glacial Quake Super is the best and only super this build has. Just because it is the only super though doesn’t make it a bad one. Glacial Quake is one of the better options in certain situations for single-target damage. What barricade is chosen doesn’t matter at all because the exotic Hoarfrost-Z changes it to a Stasis Crystal wall. This build is designed around utilizing Stasis Crystals to generate Stasis Shards, which is why we have the Glacier Grenade equipped. Shiver Strike is the only melee option, but we will mostly just be using the alternate melee granted by the Howl of the Storm aspect.
Glacial Quake – Currently the only option for Stasis Titan. Great for large ad clears and for generating stasis crystals. Can also put out some great single target damage.
Rally Barricade – Doesn’t matter what you choose here.
Catapult Lift – This really comes down to personal preference, so feel free to flex another lift if you prefer it.
Glacier Grenade – This build revolves around breaking Stasis Crystals, so this is a required pick.
Shiver Strike – Currently the only options for Stasis Titan. Its not super effective, but with Howl of the Storm it can generate more Stasis Crystals for us.
All of the abilities used in this build are important because they all feed into each other. Keeping up a consistent rhythm of ability usage will generate tons of Stasis Shards and Crystals which will constantly feed into our abilities. There aren’t a lot of flexible options when it comes to this build.
Aspects
The best aspects to use with our Hoarfrost-X Stasis Titan build are Tectonic Harvest and Howl of the Storm. These are both necessary options for the build’s ability rotation to be effective.
Tectonic Harvest – We need these Stasis Shards to increase our ability uptime.
Howl of the Storm – Allows our melee to generate Stasis Shards.
Tectonic Harvest is the fuel for this build. Every Stasis Crytal we break will grant us a Stasis Shard. Stasis Shards grant us melee energy back by default. This feeds into the Howl of the Storm aspect. Howl of the Storm changes our melee into a Stasis Crystal wave. This combined with Hoarfrost-Z and Glacier Grenades makes every ability we have create Stasis Crystals.
Fragments
The best fragments for our Stasis Titan PvE build are the Whispers of Refraction, Conduction, Shards, and Fissures. These all either boost our ability to apply Scorch to our enemies or increase the duration of Radiant or Restoration buffs.
Whisper of Refraction : Gets us our Class ability energy back for killing slowed or frozen targets.
Whisper of Conduction : This will help us collect Stasis Shards more easily.
Whisper of Shards : Helps us get grenade energy back faster.
Whisper of Fissures : Adds to our overall damage.
Whisper of Refraction helps our ability cycle by granting us class ability energy. Whisper of Conduction allows us to collect the Stasis Shards more easily which is helpful for our build. To help our grenade ability regen, Whisper of Shards is a must have pick. We are going to be destroying a lot of Stasis Crystals, so Whisper of Fissures is a great pick to increase our overall damage.
Weapons
The best weapons for our Stasis Titan PvE build are Appetence, Funnelweb, and Salvation’s Grip. Appetence is just a great Stasis special weapon and rolls with great perks like Overflow and Killing Tally or Headstone. Funnelweb is one of the better all-around energy primary options. Salvation’s Grip is a powerful option with this build. Not only can it do decent damage, but the Stasis Crystals it creates further feed into this build.
Here’s a list of the best weapon loadout for our Stais Titan PvE build:
- Kinetic: Appetence, Adaptive Frame Stasis Trace Rifle
- Energy: Funnelweb, Lightweight Frame Void Submachine Gun
- Heavy: Salvation’s Grip, Exotic Stasis Grenade Launcher
Alternatively, you can go with the old combo with this build. It’s more flexible and allows for more freedom in doing damage with your heavy weapon. To do this replace your kinetic weapon with the exotic Ager’s Sceptor and your heavy weapon with a Rocket Launcher such as the Cold Comfort or the Apex Predator. You can still utilize Funnelweb with this setup.
Exotic Armor
While you can get away without using this exotic, the Hoarfrost-Z absolutely keeps this build going. It creates a Stasis Crystal wall that we can break to make more Stasis Shards. This creates another avenue of ability regen for us, and that is a cornerstone for this build. The build isn’t dependent on using the Hoarfrost-Z but it’s still the best option around.
Armor Stats
The best stats to focus on for our Stasis Titan PvE build are Resilience, Discipline, and Strength. These provide us with both the offense and defense needed to survive end-game content.
- Mobility: 10
- Resilience: 100
- Recovery: 60
- Discipline: 100
- Intellect: 50
- Strength: 60
Armor Mods
The best armor mods for the Hoarfrost-Z Stasis Titan build are Elemental Charge, Grenade Kickstart, Brawler, and Distribution. These all play into getting our Grenade energy back faster since our melee recharges from everything else.
Slot | Mod | Mod | Mod |
Head | Harmonic Siphon | Heavy Ammo Finder | Harmonic Siphon |
Arms | Impact Induction | Grenade Kickstart | Focusing Strike |
Chest | Resist Mods* | Resist Mods* | Resist Mods* |
Legs | Recuperation | Stasis Weapon Surge | Stasis Weapon Surge |
Class | Bomber | Distribution | Reaper |
*Use whatever resistance mods are relevant for the activity
Your chest mods will change depending on the damage types you are facing based on the content you are doing. Remember that using the same mod more than once has diminishing returns. Utilize any stat-boosting mods as you see fit to max out any of your priority stats.
