Destiny 2 Solar Titan PvE Build

This guide gives weapons, exotics, and armor mods for a Destiny 2 Solar Titan PvE Build.

Destiny 2 Solar Titan PvE Build

This Build has Been Updated for Season 23, Season of the Wish.

Why Should You Play Solar Titan in PvE?

This Solar Titan build is one of the better all-around builds in the game. It combines insane add-clearing potential with huge burst damage on single targets. The Solar Titan’s innate kit allows for it to be survivable even when we aren’t directly building into it, allowing us to focus more on damage by causing a crazy amount of ignitions. Find out all the details on how to craft, create, and optimize our Pyrogale Solar Titan PvE Build.

Destiny 2 Solar Titan PvE Build

The following list presents all the essential Solar Titan PvE Mechanics and Features in Destiny 2:

  • Subclass: Sunbreaker
  • Primary Stat: Resilience
  • Super: Burning Maul
  • Class Ability: Rally Barricade
  • Jump: Catapult Lift
  • Grenade: Healing Grenade
  • Melee: Throwing Hammer
  • Aspects: Sol Invictus, Consecration
  • Fragments: Ember of Searing, Ember of Solace, Ember of Ashes, Ember of Torches

Abilities

The best abilities for the Pyrogale Solar Titan PvE Build are Rally Barricade, Healing Grenade, and Throwing Hammer. The Burning Maul super is the best super to utilize with this build because it does a huge burst of AoE and Single target damage when paired with the Exotic Pyrogale Gauntlets. The Rally Barricade gives us a decent little boost to our defenses and reload speed when active. We want to be using our Healing Grenade whenever we find ourselves in a situation where we need a quick heal. The Throwing Hammer gives us a ranged option for our melee attack, but we will mostly utilize the Consecration aspect’s melee ability.

Burning Maul

Rally Barricade

Catapult Lift

Healing Grenade

Throwing Hammer

Burning Maul – Summon a flaming maul and crush targets with the force of an earthquake.

Rally Barricade – Create a small barrier that you can peek over while aiming down sights and that increases weapon reload speed, stability, and range when you stand behind it.

Catapult Lift – Jump while airborne to activate Lift and launch into the air with a strong initial burst of momentum.

Healing Grenade – A grenade that cures allies on impact and creates an Orb of benevolent Solar Light, granting restoration to allies when picked up.

Throwing Hammer – Throw a hammer from a distance. Picking up a thrown hammer fully recharges your melee ability. If the hammer struck a target, picking it up grants cure.

The most important ability to make sure we are using with this build is the Burning Maul super. It gives us a huge burst of damage with a single shot. Everything else can be flexed in and out depending on the situation. For example, we can switch out the Healing Grenade for a more offensive option if other methods of survivability are available.

Aspects

The best aspects to use with our Pyrogale Solar Titan build are Sol Invictus and Consecration. One gives us a survivability option and the other our build is dependent on.

Sol Invictus

Consecration

Sol Invictus – Solar ability final blows, Hammer of Sol impacts, and defeating scorched targets creates Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster, and your Super drains more slowly while standing in a Sunspot.

Consecration – While sliding, activate your charged melee ability to launch a wave of Solar energy forward, damaging and scorching targets in front of you as you leap into the air. While airborne, activate your charged melee again to slam to the ground and create a second larger wave of damaging Solar energy. If the wave hits a scorched target, they ignite.

Consecration is extremely important to this build. When it is paired with Pyrogale Gauntlets, the Consecration melee attack creates a cyclone of flame that further scorches and damages targets caught in it. Sole Invictus further builds into this, creating Sunspots, which act as a damage source to our enemies by applying Scorch and a healing source for ourselves.

Fragments

The best fragments for our Pyrogale Solar Titan PvE build are the Embers of Searing, Solace, Ashes, and Torches. These all either boost our ability to apply Scorch to our enemies or increase the duration of Radiant or Restoration buffs.

Ember of Searing

Ember of Solace

Ember of Ashes

Ember of Torches

Ember of Searing : Defeating scorched targets grants melee energy and creates a Firesprite. +10 Recovery

Ember of Solace : Radiant and restoration effects applied to you have increased duration.

Ember of Ashes : You apply more scorch stacks to targets.

Ember of Torches : Powered melee attacks against combatants make you and nearby allies radiant. -10 Discipline

Ember of Ashes is extremely important to our build as it allows it to apply many more Scorch stacks to our targets. More Scorch means more Ignitions, which is what we want with this build. Ember of Torches gives us Radiant when we do a powered melee attack, which is something we will be doing a lot. In order to improve the duration of the Radiance and the Restoration our Healing Grenades grant us, Ember of Solace is an easy pick. Ember of Searing creates a feedback loop in which we get melee energy and Firesprites for defeating scorches targets, which there will be plenty of.

Weapons

The best weapons for our Solar Titan PvE build are Monte Carlo, Eremite, and Apex Predator. Monte Carlo is one of the better ability-supporting exotic weapons, getting us nearly infinite melee ability usage so long as there are enemies around to shoot. The Eremite is one of the better fusion rifles to use for damage in the game due to its perks Envious Assassin and Controlled Burst. This essentially allows the fusion rifle to put several bolts into an enemy that do massive damage without needing to reload. Apex Predator is a staple among any build. It is quite easily one of (if not) the best rocket launchers in the game currently.

Here’s a list of the best weapon loadout for our Solar Titan PvE build:

  • Kinetic: Monte Carlo, Exotic Kinetic Auto Rifle
  • Energy: The Eremite, High-Impact Frame Solar Fusion Rifle
  • Heavy: Apex Predator, Adaptive Frame Solar Rocket Launcher

Alternatively, you could build more into ignitions and Scorch rather than your melee ability. To do this replace your kinetic weapon with a sniper rifle such as Irukanji or The Supremacy and your energy weapon with a Solar primary with the Incandescent trait, such as the Ammit AR4 or the Calus Mini-Tool. If you go this route, you will want to use the Exotic rocket launcher Dragon’s Breath.

Exotic Armor

Destiny 2 Pyrogale Gauntlets Exotic

This PvE build is completely built around on of the best Solar Titan Exotics, the Pyrogale Gauntlets. The main thing this build utilizes with this exotic is how it improves the Consecration aspect. When slamming with the Consecration slide-melee, this exotic creates a Cyclone that does additional solar damage further scorching targets, which causes more ignitions. Another bonus is that it turns the Burning Maul super into a single-use slam that does over six times the damage of the normal super slam. It creates 3 tracking waves that create additional cyclones that can stack even more damage on the target. The burst-damage potential of this exotic is top-tier.

Armor Stats

The best stats to focus on for our Solar Titan PvE build are Resilence, Discipline, and Strength. These provide us with both the offense and defense needed to survive end-game content.

  • Mobility: 10
  • Resilience: 100
  • Recovery: 60
  • Discipline: 80
  • Intellect: 50
  • Strength: 80

Armor Mods

The best armor mods for the Pyrogale Solar Titan build are Hands-On, Melee Kickstart, Heavy Handed, and Outreach. These all directly play into our Melee ability, either giving it a bonus or helping us get it back faster.

Head
Arm
Chest
Leg
Class

Your chest mods will change depending on the damage types you are facing based on the content you are doing. Remember that using the same mod more than once has diminishing returns. Utilize any stat-boosting mods as you see fit to max out any of your priority stats.

Gameplay Tips

This build is all about utilizing the Consecration aspect melee. Run toward a large group of enemies or major combatant, slide then cast your melee. This will launch you into the air, and that is your cue to melee again. This will have your character slam into the ground sending a solar wave and tornado into your enemies. Any enemy that survives the initial hit will most likely die in the ensuing ignitions. If you find yourself hurting either use your Healing Grenade or run into one of the Sunspots you inevitably created as a Solar Titan.

Our Burning Maul super becomes a huge burst damage option for bosses. Its only downside is it travels along the ground so it is not very useful against airborne enemies. Cast it at the beginning of a damage phase to cause huge damage over time. While that is happening fire off some rockets and unload your special weapon into the boss. This is one of the better burst supers for damage in Destiny 2 when combined with other damage-dealing options.
