Starfield Armor Mods Mods are components which the player can use to enhance or change weapons in game. In some games, doing so can cause the change to be permanent, while other games have mechanics which allow the player to change their mind and switch out augmentations later on. Equipment is one of the five main categories of Research available in Starfield. We haven't been shown what kind of research projects will be available in that particular category yet, but it is likely this will be where players can research and craft mods to their armor and gear.
