Tears of the Kingdom – Cooking Guide and All Recipes
Welcome to our Tears of the Kingdom – Cooking Guide and All Recipes article!
Similar to the cooking and recipe system in Breath of the Wild, the food and drink crafting players will likely find in Tears of the Kingdom will play a vital role in your adventure with Link. Some more casual players may not have taken much notice or have had the time to experiment with all of the different ingredients found in the game. However, those that did found not just a simple way of replenishing Link’s health but also other, impressive ways to augment the Hero’s power.
In this Cooking Guide and All Recipes list we’ll be cataloging all of the best and most effective recipes and where to find the required ingredients.
Tears of the Kingdom is scheduled to release on May 12, 2023, and we will be covering the game in-depth! Read on below to follow our guide for recipes, ingredients, and where to find them once the game has launched.
Cooking Guide
Cooking in Breath of the Wild could produce foods which when eaten, provided Link with certain effect boosts. Those were: Attack Up, Defense Up, Stealth Up, Movement Speed Up, Flame Guard, Cold Resistance, Heat Resistance, Shock Resistance, Extra Stamina, Stamina Restoration, and Full Recovery + Extra Hearts.
It’s not yet known if these exact same effects will be generated upon successfully cooking in Tears of the Kingdom. But we will update this page with that information as soon as it becomes available.
Best Recipes
In Breath of the Wild, many recipes could be discovered through exploration. Sometimes an NPC might share cooking instructions with Link, or you might find scraps of written recipes on banners. The game at the time had no internal way of keeping track of what recipes you had already found, so you would have to make your own notes of what you found in the moment.
Hopefully in Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo will have provided some way of referencing previously found recipes! Regardless, our guide will be here to help you cut the ‘wheat from the chaff’ and and break down which recipes will be the most effective.
Ingredients
Available ingredients can be found across the land of Hyrule in a variety of different ways. Meats can drop from animals and some types of defeated creatures. Monster parts can drop from defeated enemies. Fish, of course, can only be gained when Link takes the time to go fishing. Plants can be harvested and even bugs can become a delicacy!
We do not not yet know how many or if any of the ingredients found in Tears of the Kingdom will be repeats of those used in Breath of the Wild. The odds are likely that many will be, but until we know for sure we’ll refrain from posting here just yet.
Keep an eye on this space for updates after the game launches on May 12th!
