What are Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels?
Heart Containers are special items that players can receive in two ways, and each will increase the number of player hearts, increasing the total Link’s health pool.
Stamina Vessesl works similarly. They increase Link’s maximum stamina pool allowing him to do all activities that require it for much longer, such as climbing, swimming, gliding or horse riding.
You can receive Hearts containers and Stamina vessels from goddess statues found at the end of each Sky Island and in various Hayrule locations that will offer you one or the other in exchange for four Light of Blessings.
How to Increase Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels?
The easiest way to increase your heart and stamina is to complete the shrines scattered around the games’ world and visit the goddess statue to exchange them for Light of Blessing. Each time you interact with the goddess, she asks you what you desire: Heart Container or Stamina Vessel.
How many Light of Blessing, Shrines, Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels are in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
There are 152 shrines in total, 120 on the surface and 32 on the sky islands to complete. That equals 152 Light of Blessings. Because you need 4 Light of Blessings to receive one Heart Container or Stamina Vessel, you can get 38 of them, and how many of each is your choice.
It’s worth mentioning that there is a second method to get even more Heart Containers. Each time you kill a main boss who is part of the story or a quest, you can also receive extra hearts.
It’s also noticeable that Link has two max rows of hearts at the beginning of the game. Presumably, it is the cap, and 30 is the maximum number of heart containers players can collect.
