Avowed is Obsidian Entertainment’s latest RPG. Furthermore, it is set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, one of their previous titles. During your time in Avowed, you play as an envoy sent to a faraway place by the emperor of the Aedyr Empire. In addition, the place you are sent to, the Living Lands, is affected by a mysterious plague known as “Dreamscourge.” The plague affects not only the land but also the inhabitants of the place, both monsters and humans.
You have to find out more about the plague and try to stop it while helping people anytime you can. Moreover, Avowed has multiple main missions and side missions you can take on throughout its four regions. Lastly, this article will list all the missions you can play in Avowed.
All Main Missions in Avowed
Avowed has four regions you play through. Each region has a distinct environment and is filled with various side quests and objectives you can complete. In fact, Avowed has a total of 12 main quests and 42 side quests that you can take on. Additionally, there are various other objectives, such as bounties, treasure maps, and companion quests. There are also multiple points of no return throughout these quests, but you do get warned by your companions before crossing them.

All Side Missions in Avowed
In general, each of the four regions of Avowed has numerous side missions that you can complete. For instance, these missions can usually be started by talking to NPCs or by triggering them in the wild. Shortly after completing these side missions, you can earn many rewards. Additionally, you can gain knowledge about the rich lore of Avowed throughout these quests. Particularly, each region has several side missions you can take on, totaling up to 42 missions. How Long Does It Take To Complete All Missions in Avowed
In general, completing all missions in Avowed, including every main mission, side mission, and objective, will take you approximately 120-140 hours. However, if you are only interested in completing the main missions without completing any side missions or objectives, it should take you around 40 hours to complete the main story.
However, do keep in mind that these are only estimated numbers. Additionally, you also have to take into account the difficulty you are playing on. For example, an easier difficulty can take less time to complete compared to a harder difficulty.

Points of No Return in Avowed
The final point of no return in Avowed is during the quest “Our Dreams Divide Us Still” when you are about to enter The Garden. Once you step inside, you will be locked out of completing any unfinished side quests or further exploring the Living Lands until you complete the story.
However, several key missions change the game world, preventing you from finishing certain tasks. For example:
- To begin with, “A Path to the Garden” locks you out of completing all side quests in Shatterscarp.
- When you begin the “Ancient Soil” mission, all quests in Emerald Stair become unavailable.
- Finding the Steel Garrote during “Our Dreams Divide Us Still” may prevent you from finishing some side quests in Galawain’s Tusks.
Before initiating these quests, your companions will have dialogues about completing any left-out missions. To avoid missing out on any content, complete all side missions in a region before progressing with the main storyline to another region.
