To be able to catch magical beasts, you need to progress in the main story to the point where you’ll receive the Room of Requirement. You’ll need to complete a series of main quests (list & walkthrough here) to access capturing beasts during The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom quest. Another very important quest is The Beasts Class, where you’ll learn how to care, groom and feed properly for your magical beasts.
How to capture the magical beats?
During The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom quest, you’ll receive a special bad called The Nab-Sack, where you can safely store and carry rescued beasts. From now, each time you visit your Room of Requirement, set your magical beasts couples to have a new baby and collect those who were borne while you were gone. Take them to the Brood & Peck shop in Hogsmeade and sell them for gold.
