The game doesn’t offer a mortality system, so you can freely be rude to NPC characters or cast unforgivable curses. However, if you decide to go the Evil Wizard path, various cut scenes and dialogue will sometimes play differently. So if you plan on having multiple playthroughs, you should try Dark Wizard path in one of them.
In Hogwarts Legacy, you can’t become an actual villain, either. The game is designed to put the player on a path to saving the world; your character is the only one who can accomplish it.
How to Unlock Unforgivable Curses Guide
You can unlock all curses during one of your companions, Sebastian Swallow’s questline. Worth to remember that some quests will start only when you reach a certain level, so check below, the level requirements for each curse.

The Crucio Curse
In Hogwarts Legacy, the Crucio Curse is a powerful tool of dark arts that causes most enemies to writhe in pain as they take damage over time. - During the quest, you need to unlock three doors. Look at the symbols on the door, and then repeat the symbols on the snake mechanism.

The Avada Kedavra Curse
In Hogwarts Legacy, the Avada Kedavra Spell is a powerful tool of dark arts that causes instantaneous and painless death. It is also called the Killing Curse, and the Ministry of Magic officially forbids it as one of the three Unforgivable Curses. The spell has a distinct sound and green color, easily recognisable by every wizard or witch.

The Dark Arts Battle Arena is a unique combat-focused repeatable activity that you can start any time to practice your spells and Unforgivable Courses! Regardless if you completed the legacy questline, there are 4 Dark Wizard spells to test (automatically unlocked in the location):
