Avowed is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. If you remember Pillars of Eternity, Avowed will take place in the same universe, but it will be a different style of play in a new region, Eora.
Will Avowed be available on Game Pass in 2024?
Yes, Avowed will be available on Game Pass. Obsidian and Microsoft announced a fall 2024 release date in June last year, but we’re still waiting on a concrete date. We learned more about it at the 2024 Xbox Developer_Direct livestream on January 18.

In 2023, Obsidian Entertainment during the Developer_Direct livestream announced Avowed would be released in fall 2024. With no specific date yet. You can play Avowed on the Xbox Series X/S, Windows 10/11, and Steam platforms, serving a wide audience.
How popular will Avowed be?
Xbox is very interested in Avowed hitting it big. Neither Starfield nor Redfall performed as well as expected, and Obsidian is a proven developer who has created some beautiful games. Fallout: New Vegas was a cult classic, and Avowed is a similar kind of play style. Avowed will likely be very popular with the Pillars of Eternity crowd and the Fallout: New Vegas crowd.
The real test, however, is if Avowed can gain traction with the large group of gamers that love Skyrim so much. If it can give those players a great gameplay experience, Avowed could be big.
