What are Modules in The First Descendant?

In The First Descendant, modules are essential components that enhance and customize your character’s abilities, stats, and overall performance. Modules can be acquired through questing, missions, loot drops, and vendor items. Moreover, you have limited resources to slot mods; some slots may be empty depending on your chosen setup. When you first start and get a new weapon or descendant, remember to equip them with new mods.

Not all modules are equal; some may be best for specific descendants (characters) or weapons, others will be crucial when leveling, and most are utilized in specific activities – in this guide we will explain and list the best options.

Types of Modules in The First Descendant

Electric Transition Transcedent Module - The First Descendant

There are various types of modules, each serving a different purpose. Here is a brief overview:

  • Descendant Modules:
    • Ultimate Descendant Modules: Ultimate Descendant Modules provide simple stat boosts like increased health, shield, or attack power. They have ultimate quality.
    • Skill Modules: Furthermore, skill-specific modules can enhance specific skills or abilities of your Descendant. They have a Transcendent rarity and are specific to each descendant.
  • Weapon Modules: Improve weapon performance by increasing damage, accuracy, or other stats. They can have different quality, such as ultimate, rare, or normal.

How to Equip Modules for Weapons and Descendants?

Equipping modules is straightforward and can be done through the in-game menu. Here’s a short guide that lists steps on how to equip modules for both descendants and weapons:

  1. Equipping Descendant Modules
    • Open the Inventory (I).
    • Click on “Descendant Module” on the left side.
    • You can also equip modules for unused Descendants by going to Descendant (H) > Descendant List (G) > Select Descendant > Details (P) > Module Settings.

    • Open the Inventory (I).
    • Hover over an equipment item and select “Module Settings.”

How to Pick the Best Modules for Your Descendants?

Mastery Ranks - The First Descendant

Choosing the best Transcendent modules from such a long list for your Descendants and weapons involves considering several factors. Each module has a capacity cost, so you must keep that in mind when creating combinations and equipping your modules. Matching the module type with the slot type reduces the capacity cost, making your setup more efficient. As your character level and account Mastery Rank increase, your capacity to equip modules also improves. You can also use an ‘Energy Activator’ to increase max capacity once per Descendant or weapon. Mastery rank influences Descendant and weapon Modules.
