All Bosses Overview in BG3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, bosses play a significant role in the game’s narrative and combat structure, offering formidable challenges and key story progression. These powerful enemies are often central to the plot, usually representing significant threats to the player’s party. Boss encounters typically require strategic thinking, precise tactics, and efficient use of the player’s party abilities. These fights vary in complexity, with some requiring players to exploit weaknesses, manage environmental factors, or make difficult moral choices that affect the outcome.
Additionally, bosses in BG3 will have their own stats, abilities scores, skills, attacks, resistances, and features in combat. Furthermore, all of these can potentially change depending on the level of difficulty you have selected. For example, on Explorer (easy) difficulty, the Phase Spider Matriarch will have 87 HP. However, on Tactician (hard) she will have 162 HP. Other stats can be buffed on bosses, as well.

Honour Mode is a unique difficulty setting that gives bosses Legendary Actions and your campaign will end on the death of all party members. There are 44 bosses you can fight in Baldur’s Gate 3, with one prologue boss, 15 in Act 1, 13 in Act 2, and 15 in Act 3.
Surprisingly, many of the bosses found in BG3 are optional. If you play the game a certain way, you will only have to face 3 bosses in Act 2 and 4 in Act 3. However, first-time players are highly unlikely to accomplish this because doing so requires that you know the locations of some bosses and actively avoid them while exploring. Furthermore, while it might speed the game up to do so, skipping so many bosses will mean that you miss out on a lot of very good gear and loot.

All Prologue Bosses

All Act 3 Bosses
There are 15 bosses in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, but you are only required to face four of them in order to advance the story. However, there is a lot of strong end-game gear that you will miss out on by skipping so many other fights. Moreover, some of these skippable bosses represent the resolution of some of your companion’s personal story quests. Skipping them will mean that you do not see their resolution or the different paths their stories can take.
